Yeah, Derek--but DOS file structure seems to be over a lot of people's heads these days. He should try Start > Find > Files or Folders.PaulSMissing file after msts start up – image 1

RE: missing file after msts start up.

HI Derek,
Now that I know where the file should go,
where can I get a copy of that file? MSTS will not start
up with out it, as I said before, just an error message. George

RE: missing file after msts start up.

George - I have several of 3dtrains' trainsets as well as most of MLT's and 3dtrainstuff and don't have that file anywhere either. Are you sure it's not something you downloaded from the file library at one time?

RE: missing file after msts start up.

Hi Frank,
Nice to have you join the problem.
I did a re install of MSTS with just Cascades Crossing,
Cajone,Tehachapi, and add ons for these routes.
After the install was done the error message came up. George

RE: missing file after msts start up.

A real easy temporary solution:Find a caboose wagon that is similar. Copy it out somewhere, rename it to what you are missing, then copy it back to the folder that needs it. It may not be quite the same, but at leat you can start playing again. Scot

SP_Caboose.wag is found in the folder "3DTrains_Freight" NOT "3DTrains\Freight"

RE: missing file after msts start up.

Charles, you are correct about the typo, my error.
I have two 3DTrains Folders.
1. 3DTrains_FreightPack
2. 3DTrains_Funits
What caboose.wag would I use?
George

RE: missing file after msts start up.

Where is this SP_Caboose file anyway? I have the same two folders as George, but no SP_Cabooses either. Interesting.

RE: missing file after msts start up.

May I suggest running RouteRiter over the system? It will happily find which consist is missing the wagon, and will facilitate substitution of an alternative.
