WOW! This one is nice!RENFE 062-0401
by GRANDO PascalCustom cab, GMAX model, beautiful detail, probably one of the best virtual cabins that you will find in MSTS. This is a Spanish Steam engine used in the harsh areas of the south. You can get it at TrenSim.com:http://www.trensim.com/lib/pafiledb.php?lib=msts&action=category&id=1It should be the first one on the list as it was recently released. I think this is payware quality. Any thoughts?

RE: Fantastic Freeware Steam Engine

What would be the classification, 0-6-4-6-0?What a handsome piece of equipment.

Pascal Grando is a french modeller who did that version for the spanish site as this type of loco was bought by Spain and...China!!!!
You can download more of his excellent models from http://railatelier.free.fr/models/modeles.htm
including the famous Chapelon 4.6.2 Nord which regularly headed the 'Fleche d'Or' express on it's French leg from Calais to Paris.
I had the pleasure of working on the eng and wag files.
The Spanish site also has some good steamers including american Mikados used by the Spanish railways..
Both sites are worth a visit.. Georges

RE: Fantastic Freeware Steam Engine

Thanks for the link to Pascal's site, that is a site that I would have never found on my own. (I wonder why his site is not listed in the Spanish download, or did I miss it?)I was thinking of the classification myself. I would think 6-4-6? Or are you not allowed to count the larger wheels first? The Spanish Mikados at Trensim.com are truly beautiful. RENFE 141-2211 by Pere Comas is one of my favorite engines I have installed. Probably one of the best, if not the best steam engine I have in MSTS.

RE: Fantastic Freeware Steam Engine

You are right Jonatan..
It's articulated and is 0-6-2+2-6-0...in France they count the number of axles. That's why you'll see 0-3-1+1-3-0 in the read-me's etc...Georges

I prefer the 'chocolate' one which was the livery for the 'Nord'(North)area. It looks great coupled to some 'Pullman' coaches..

RE: Fantastic Freeware Steam Engine

They have a cab based on the actual loco...but they are not 'prototypical' despite that they are still of high standard.
1 and 5 view apply...so forget 'passenger' views ..but you'd be looking at the locos anyway.. Georges
