So far two problems have come up;1. Incorrect consists for the coalmine and Westcott activities,2. Missing snow textures for coalmine tracks. Here's the patch:http://www.train-sim.com/dcforum/User_files/415c470c6b2c460d.zipClick on that to download, then extract to \Train Simulator\Routes, and doubleclick on \Train Simulator\Routes\Portogden9\custom.bat to fix the snow textures.

Man, you don't know nuthin' about horticulture. That's a bashfullinus hibiscus bush, has little white flowers when viewed from a distance, and the flowers get shy and hide when you get close. That's my story, and I'm sticking to it! Actually, I had to look since I didn't remember, but that one is a default, tree9.ace. Not sure what's wrong with it, probably the hole in the alpha channel is larger than the texture? I'll have to look and see if there's more than one version of that texture, a lot of the defaults have the same filenames with different textures.

Port Ogden & Northern 9 patch – image 2

LAST EDITED ON Sep-30-04 AT 05:31 PM (EDT)

I also had a problem with one of the route's SMS files causing extremely loud rail rolling noises to play whenever the train was moving in external view. I fixed it by overwriting with the external track sound SMS from the default Marias Pass - am I the only person really having this problem, was it intentional, or what? I'm just curious.Port Ogden & Northern 9 patch – image 3"The F59PHI and Genesis are the lamest excuses for locomotives Amtrak has ever operated - accept it and move on. RE: Port Ogden & Northern 9 patch

I don't think you're the only one, Niknak reported continuous looping of external track sounds after stopping, and others have said it's too damn loud. I don't remember if I mentioned in the readme, but the cure is to copy the ttype.dat file from some other route into the \portogden9 folder. On the other hand, I got a box full of emails asking how to get the PO&N custom track sounds into another route (copy the \portogden9\sound\ folder and ttype.dat to the other route's folder), so some people prefer it to that monotonous disco rythym.Probably depends on a combination of individual taste (everyone knows my tastes are bizarre) and sound equipment, I have a Soundblaster Audigy with Creative Inspire 2.1 speakers, 6 watt satellites and a 17 watt woofer. I'm not especially married to the "popcorn percolator" sound you get from 15 to 30 mph, wish I could improve on that, but to me it sounds better than the default.

Personally, I'd rather have no track sounds at all since I'm using custom sound files for all my cars, so I guess it's a personal preference.Port Ogden & Northern 9 patch – image 5"The F59PHI and Genesis are the lamest excuses for locomotives Amtrak has ever operated - accept it and move on. Thought I'd try out snow from Anderson.
For some reason after running the custom bat I was still missing
snow/us2fuelstation.ACE which I copied over and things started up.This route sure is sweet!

RE: Port Ogden & Northern 9 patch

Yeah, ain't it fun?Lemmee see if I can Sherlock your glitch here.Installme.bat says;call xcopy "..\Japan2\Textures\snow\US2FuelStation.ace" .\Textures\snow\ /yIn another thread you were copying trainsim to a different disk and had to reinstall, since the system registry don't have the keys to save display settings without an official install. You're one of the old salts who's been here since the beginning, so what you installed was MSTS 1.0. After that you forgot to run the 1.1 patch. Your train.exe is dated May 9th 2001 instead of December 11th 2001. Am I correct, Watson?

RE: Port Ogden & Northern 9 patch

Elementary, Watson, I NEVER trust content from Megasoft, so when I first got the 1.1 patch I backed up the entire trainsim folder and studied exactly what the patch did. In addition to replacing six root files and replacement Dash9.eng, GP38.eng, and 380tender.wag that moved the fuel points, they included one previously missing night texture, and one snow texture, both in the Japanese routes. How's that for Murphy's Law, US2fuelstation.ace is in the USA2 folder, and other than the date (one with the patch has an EARLIER date for some reason!) they're identical. Route Riter had two choices for where to copy it from in the bat file, and it chose the one that wasn't there in MSTS 1.0. Need to put Scotland Yard on the trail of that dastardly Australian villian Mike Simpson, sometimes I think he does these things on purpose just so he can laugh at me.
