I have to reset the display settings each time. My install was copied to a new hard drive from a failing one. I have changed all the files to non read only. What else is there to do? Everything else seems to work fine. Thanks, John
Thanks for the reply Derek. Do you mean I should uninstall MSTS (which I'm trying to avoid) or uninstall the drivers for my Radeon 9500 Pro or both? John
Hi John !Somebody else had that problem recently.I think Derek means to install MSTS again ?The easiest way to refresh the MSTS Registry entries is to simply rename your Train Simulator folder to something else and do a full INSTALL of MSTS again. If this install retains your OPTIONS settings then RESTORING the renamed MSTS folder should do the trick !
If there were a problem with your Radeon driver install then other applications using graphics would also have problems ?O t t o
They are talking about a trainsim install here.Like everything else about MSTS the settings is really goofy, instead of being like everyone else and using a .cfg, .ini, or .dat file, the preferences are saved to the system registry! Consequently if you copy the \Train Simulator folder from one system to another, the save options has no system registry keys to update, so it don't save anything. MSTS has to be "officially" installed on the system it's run on, or you can't save any preferences.

Thanks folks!! The rename/install worked and I'm back to maxed graphics. I also now have all the default routes saved on my other drive just in time for installing PO9.
