I went to run Train Store today for the first time in the past 3 days, and got the error Module 'Languages Line Number.: 183 Unexpected Error Templnt -1 DEFAULT_LANG: 1024 Module File: P:\Program Files\Train Store\Trainstore.enu Module File: P:\Program Files\Train Store\Trainstore.enu ENGLISH: 2057I've tried an uninstall and reinstall, buth the same results. The system this is on is running Win 98 SE. The only system changes I've made have been to upgrade to the most recent nVidia FX drivers and to install DirectX 9.0c.Anybody have any thoughts?
This problem is caused by a corruption of memory which causes Windows to give incorrect replies to program requests for language information. The problem has been reported before after changing video resolutions, so it may be video driver related. On previous reports the problem has been removed by a system reboot. Tony
RE: Train Store problem versus nVidia FX drivers in Win
Too bloody right it's video related, Tony. I installed The Sims 2 last Wednesday for my daughter. It required that I update to DirectX v9.0c, which comes on the CD. After I updated it the game would crash randomly. Per Maxis tech support suggestions I downloaded & installed the latest nVidia Win 98 video drivers for my FX 5200 video card. Sims 2 ran just fine, but then I started getting the Train Store error. I uninstalled it, reinstalled it, and Train Store ran. But...When I try to run MSTS it crashes the whole machine horribly! A reboot blue screens on me before the machine even finishes loading Windows. I have to boot into safe mode, set the video adapter to generic VGA, reboot, then re-install the nVidia rev 44 drivers. After a second reboot MSTS runs fine, but of course Sims 2 won't. What a pain!!! Beware.
