It has been quite awhile since I have downloaded the NALW Bigboy & Challenger package and tried to fix a problem.Cannot find out what is wrong.I have even deleted and reinstalled the package. The Bigboy whistle does not work on any of the engine numbers. Only steam comes out on the engine when you sound the whistle. All the other sounds work fine.I even went into the folder and tried other steam engine whistles by replacing the sound folder.Still NG. When I open the sound folder and right click on the whistle sound it works on my media player OK?
Anyone else ever have this issue?I never saw anything posted in regards to this problem.
If there is a fix, walk me through in detail if possible. Thanks
Al

RE: 4884 BIGBOY No Whistle

alhsr,Conbuilder from the library is very good and finding sound file problems. Are you familiar with .sms files and how they work?Unfortunately, I'm just about to leave and be away from my computer for a couple of days, so I don't think I'll be able to help much more right now, but there are plenty of gurus of sound files here.My guess at what is going on is that the .sms file is pointing to the wrong or mistyped whistle .wav file, or the .wav is missing. Or, there could be a bracket out of place that could be causing it to ignore the stream that plays the whistle.Bryce

That worked.I see there were others that had the same issues.I got the thing to work but it only blows short blasts.
The fix for that is an area where I have not gone and don t know how to move about with out causing major damage to something.I have conbuilder but not sure on some of those functions.Bryce'thanks for your help so far.
