I didnt want this posting to be lost in the other post regarding the new 3DTS AC's.As this requires their route TP II - what is the appearance of that with these "50 year old" locomotives. Is there a batch conversion similar to Rich Garbers WV&O that changes road transport etc to a more apropriate vintage. It would look a little strange to see 1940's vintage steam struggling with a heavy freight, only to be passed by 1990's road traffic etc.As a second part, what is this route like. Not being a "box" fan per se, have not really had an interest, but am now obviously considering purchasing, after Brad's posting about trying to have Donner ready for Xmas. Dont know how tongue in cheek that was, but the heart palpatations set in Was looking forward to Donner for last Xmas Cheers, and hope I have made sense with my "Down Under" english... OZ
> As a second part, what is this route like. Very well done, good detail/performance ratio, very close to the prototype both landscape as well as operation-wise, comes as a complete install with stock, activities etc. All in all the package is very appealing even to a user like me sitting on the European site of the pond & heavily used to high-speed RR's, electric traction etc. Tons of screenshots of the route around in the fora, especially from when it came out. I recommend doing a search of the screenshot forum with the key words "TEH2" or "Tehachapi" in it.Lukas a.k.a Swissie
The best thing I've ever heard anybody say about any route was when I showed my brother-in-law (who is from Mojave) MSTS with Tehachapi II for the first time...as my train rolled up the hill out of the Mojave yard, he exclaimed, "Hey, my mom's house is right over there!"THAT is about "as real as it gets"!Kurt
G'day guys...I guess the question I was really asking, is whether anybody knows just how it looks with the Cab Forwards. I certainly dont begrudge the $ required to purchase these, (and I would want the route as well ), however, to me it would look a bit strange having cab forwards and vintage F units competing with Mack trucks and SUV's on the roads. From all accounts, the route as it stands certainly is realistic, but in a 1990's perspective.Rich Garber had in his route, a batch file that would "transform" the route to a more time apropriate appearance - vintage cars etc. Does anybody know whether there is likely to be a "vintage" Tehachapi route offered. I dont suppose it would take a great deal to remove some of the more modern line side items for a more rustic feel. Would certainly be a great addition, while we sit patiently waiting for Donner...Cheers from Down Under...

RE: Look of Tehachapi Pass and Cab Forwards.
I've been working for two years on a all new 1953 era Tehachapi-Sub for the SP. I don't know when I'll get a fully sceniced route done but the track is complete. LAUPT-Prospero(west of Bakersfield) and the whole "Jawbone" to Owenyo. Overall about 200 miles of mainline and 200 miles of brances, 143 alone on the Jaawbone. When I do release the route it will have approprate trainsets for the era, mainly steam. I have had some recent delays but hope to be back on track next week.AtlanicPacificGarrettPS ACs are in the pipe too.
