While exploring Westbound, I got a Failed Signal at MP78.5 . I stopped and proceeded at 3 MPH (without permission) then the track monitor showed a speed of 0 MPH across the bridge, then 30 MPH and finally 70 MPH.Is this an error on the route , or purposely designed by the author?Chuck F.

RE: Clinton Sub - Failed signal

I'll take a look at that and get back to you. Unfortunately I have to go to work right now.Had problems with speed limits in that area. made it look like signal malfunctions. Thought it was fixed but - maybe not.Craig

RE: Clinton Sub - Failed signal

I just ran through MP78.5, crossed the Cedar River w/o any red signal. Just slowed to 30mph, then after crossing, back to 70mph. I am one of the Beta Testers for this route. I have not seen this signal problem before. Craig sent a file to fix a signal problem, for the Beta version I am using, but I havn't installed it yet. Wonder if the fix put another problem in. I can try to insyall the patch and try it through 78.5.

RE: Clinton Sub - Failed signal

Just a suggestion, Ron, you should probably delete the beta and download and install the route from the file library. First step in troubleshooting is duplicate the problem, first step in duplicating the problem is to duplicate the exact battle conditions.Chris Cyko gave me a beta of Chicago Elevated on a CD along with all the required files, and that worked fine. Once he uploaded it nobody could get it running tho, so I deleted everything he gave me, deleted the \Global folder and restored the backup copy of the default, deleted the \Trains folder and restored the backup copy of the default, then downloaded and installed the "retail" version of CER from the file library, along with newroads, cyktracks, the trainsets, and the standardized tsection.dat. Once I had all that I was able to duplicate the two problems everyone was having and figure out the causes.

You're gonna have to link the signals in the RE.This is what I had to do to get them to function properly.Claude Debnam NS Piedmont Division Raleigh EastClinton Sub - Failed signal – image 1

RE: Clinton Sub - Failed signal

Yes sir I agree duplicate all you can. Actually the current copy of the route I am using is the same as the uploaded route less the signaling patch he emailed me. I realize this is not the same as downloading the route, howver it would be next week before I would have it downloaed. The little town I live in has no kind of high speed ISP, unless I went with satellite, and I hear it's not all that great. I do get some relief, because I travel quite a lot with my job, and all the hotels I stay in have high speed. So with my laptop I go crazy trying to catch up with all the uploads, like a shark on a feeding frenzy.
I did swap the files Craig sent for the signaling patch, but I still didn't get a red signal. I wonder if it matters which track you approach the Cedar bridge and signal at 78.5. The CNW ran on the left hand track, and the UP has kept this unique left hand operation.
I have spent a lot of time in Cedar Rapids with my job, like two and three weeks at a time. With weekends to kill I kept the road hot along the prototype line along US 30, from Rochelle to Boone. Long way from home for me, I am in Oklahoma.
