With most ACF hoppers I have downloaded, 3 and 4 bay, these are the only cars so far, I cannot couple to them with any car. They are fine coupled together as you start, but if you uncouple them from your consist, then try to recouple, you can't. Does anyone know how to fix this.Is it a bounding box thing? What can I do to fix this problem because it would be nice to be able to use these cars.FBL cars, the ACF pack that includes csx and chessies etc.

RE: ACF hoppers problem

This is an indication that the bonding box is the wrong size. To view the bonding box hold down the shift key and depress the + key on the numberpad on the right side of the keyboard. The bonding box will show up as red lines around the cars and other objects. You can adjust the bonding box size by using the bonding box editor which you can download from the file library. The bonding box is too short so the cars will not couple again after they have been uncoupled. Try lengenthing the bonding box so it is the same length as the car for a starting point. Save the file and then observe the bonding box again. It may take a few trial and error attempts for you to get it set correctly.Nascarphan

I have had good luck setting my z values to be.5 meters (on each end) shorter than the length of the car. This allows the coupler to stick out beyond the Bounding Box. As an example, if the car size is 19m, subtract 1 to get 18m, and then divide by 2. That means that your Lower and Upper z values for the BB should be -9 and 9 respectively. There is also a great tutorial in the How To...section at the bottom of this page.Bryce

I was rereading messages and noted that I had a senior moment when I wrote the post stating that the bonding box could be viewrd by pressing SHIFT and + on the numeric keypad. That should have read the bonding box can be viewed by pressing CONTROL and + on the numeric key pad on the right side of the keyboard. Sorry about that.Nascarphan
