I've come across a strange and irritating problem. When I attempt to edit an activity, I cannot see any loose consists. When I attempt to place a new consist...nothing. It's like I didn't even place it.Any ideas what might be causing this or how I might fix it? Worse comes to worse I may just do a train-sim reinstall, it's been quite a while since I did that.Dave Reage - Beta Tester Halifax, Canada
Hi Dave, haven't seen anyone mention this in a long time, but actually it is a known bug in the registry. The consists are actually being placed correctly, but of course creating an activity without seeing the exact location of loose consists (or the traffic pattern of AI trains for that matter, as this will not display either when you run the video preview) is fruitles. For some reason, MSTS re-sets some curcial values in the registry when you do exit the Path Editor in the AE by clicking on the "x" to close the window instead of using the buttons to save changes or discard them. Use the tool mentionned (aefixer1.zip) to reset the proper values, and never "kill" the path editor by just closing the active window.Lukas a.k.a SwissieEdit - not my finding, just remembered an old reference to the problem posted around early 2004 in the Activity Forum.
