Hi. There's 2 wagons I got from the File Library that are reskins of default wagons. I was hoping, instead of creating consists for them, if I could replace the skin without having to mess with the .wag file?I was going to create backups of them before I attempted this.
The trouble is, the 2nd one I don't know is a "default" wagon or not. It's a Coal Car, 1 filled and 1 empty(same car). There's also the 1st one I got, a Chemical Tanker Car(according to the readme, it was reskinned from US2FREIGHTCAR3).So can I do it? It might be possiable...but, lol. I don't mess with ANYTHING that isn't a common format that I know about(bmp/gif/pcx/jpg/png)!-BeaverMon, AKA Ben-

If it is an 100% skin of an original wagon which came with MSTS then the easiest part is to rename the ACE file into the old one. Make a backup of the original ACE file and then copy the new one over it.Before you do that compare the 2 ACE files with TGAtool to make sure it is the same one.André

I figured it out. I don't have to replace the skin, I can replace the default CONSISTS with them in AE(basically it's the PO&N route here)! What I mean is, select an already placed consist, click Properties, and change the cars I want with the ones I got.Problem solved. No need for a consist for the cars I have, OR need to switch the paint jobs!-BeaverMon, AKA Ben-
