As this is payware I would like to hear from some folks who use it before I buy it. I have the unregistered versian but there is little function to it. I am going to install three or four new routes I have downloaded and am wondering about others experiance with the progra. Thanks,Dave

RE: Question about Route Control

I have used it and was OK in its day. When I went to XP I started getting error problems.I think Train Store is much better and does more. It is in the library as "trnstr30.zip".Also can not beat the price. Freeware. Regards,Waldo

RE: Question about Route Control

I've had it for years. Never used it for controling routes, putting them in storage.BUT....I DO use it constantly to CHECK routes. I use it after installing every route for errors. MSTS will find the same errors, but only after starting, one at a time. And the sim doesn't print out a list of ALL the problems that you can work on, and check off. And then reruning Route Control to check your work.I also use ConBuilder before I install ANY piece to my trainset. And in removing any piece, or route, I always run Route Control. RC finds errors that the others miss, even if its due to capitalization of letters. I've never been sorry about buying, and continue using, it. Saved my life YESTERDAY, in fact.Ted

RE: Question about Route Control

Dave,I have to agree with Waldo...it was fine in it's day. I did use the Route Manager feature at one time, but the purchase of a 200GB hard drive eliminated the need to use it. I also used the Checkup feature(available in the freeware version) at one time, but as my Train Sim folder grew in size, the length of time it took to complete a checkup became rather protracted. There are new freeware utilities that can perform these tasks in the fraction of the time it takes for Route Control to do it's thing. Route Control has not been updated in over two years and I wonder if it can be.In short, Route Control lies dormant on my hard drive and is used very rarely and only to use the checkup feature, which again, is available in the freeware version.Bill

RE: Question about Route Control

Thanks everybody. I think I will defer buying it. $25 bucks is about half of what MSTS cost new so I am thinking there are other utilities gracious folks have provided free which can do the same thing. I presently have the latest version of Con Builder. Route Riter V5.0.40, ebg mod 2.0 and train store v3 Any other recomended utilities? I do not program, reskin, do routes etc. just dedicated operator of MSTS. I need to learn better those utilities I do have.Dave
