Bnsflady dash 9 not working

I downloaded the bnsfladyd9 file and the engine does not work. It doesn't load the cadview and I had to change the eng. file to make the sound work...but still does not load properly. Any help would be appreciated.

The cabview currently is aliased to a custom cab by Cyndi. Change the cabview line to CabView ( "..\\..\\Dash9\\CabView\\Dash9.cvf" )Change the sound lines to
Sound ( "..\\..\\Dash9\\Sound\\Dash9eng.sms" ) and
Sound ( "..\\..\\Dash9\\Sound\\Dash9cab.sms" )

Can't find where to put these lines...not as familiar with changing all these lines as I should be.

Open the file that ends with .eng then down past the light section look for the line CabView. Change the line to read as below:CabView ( "..\\..\\DASH9\\CabView\\Dash9.cvf" )This will give you the default Dash 9 cabview, if you still have the default dash 9. If you still have problems, get back to us.John

John,when you are ready to upload your copy of the BNSFLADY-D9 with the permission of all it's contributors then could you please ask Nels to take my version of it out of the File Library, uploaded on impulse following the bad news.The version on my Web Site uses the default DASH-9 cabviews and sounds and should cause no copyright problems being used ?Thanks, O t t o.

That one will have the same problem, Otto;CabView ( "..\\..\\Common.Cab\\DASH9PM\\Alias\\dash9-CAB80.cvf" )
Sound ( "../../common.snd/DASH9/D9cab.sms" )The alias in either one assumes that the end user has previously installed the common.cab and common.snd folders with their associated files. Kevarc used "default is for dummies" in his signature, to me being a dummy is a religion, Thou Shalt Follow The KISS Principle And Keep It Holy. Any addon I make gets tested with a plain vanilla bare bones installation of Train Simulator, that way you don't have to remember what was default and what was something that you downloaded or made yourself.
You could use your multiple MSTS installations for that, make one of them nothing but the basic MSTS 1.0 with absolutely no addons whatsoever, then test your addon by extracting to that. Since it contains nothing that everyone else doesn't already have on their computer, you can sort out what else they need to download to make it work.

Cyndi had made a custom cab for her 1007 series Dash-9s. The corrections I posted will replace them with the default one. I have permission to post her cab. But first I want to get permission from Richard Haagsma (no reply yet) and others. She modified .ace files and changed names. So I am trying to figure out what .ace files belong to who and get their ok. Once all the legaleze is straightened out, I'll upload it.John

I didn't know cyndi but through her numerous posts on the site here, my deepest sympathy to the family, and personal friends here on the forum. I know how it feels to loose a family member because my father past this last march 04, as for the bnsflady not working, i downloaded 2 days ago after reading the letter from lisa, and so far i have not had any problems with the dash9 at all...i like the extra lights in the cab on the left, and the digital speed marker in the speedometer on the right, to me the sound is the same as the default dash9, even though with the little extras that are in this engine, i'm most likely going to re-doo some cons that use the default d9, and replace them with cyndi.....

Hey Otto,That is true. I checked all the cabs, no sign of the BNSF Lady cab.
A shame she passed away like that, but she's in a better place now.She's probley up there in heaven, playing with her Great Pumpkin 38, and looking down at all of you and smiling.
