Anyone know what happened to the SCL A-Line Website. For a while it looked like someone had hacked it and messed it up. Then for a while it said forbidden every time I tried it. Now it says it can't be found sure hope it;s not gone fo good
Hi Busteryo,I wrote to the author of that site last month and he said someone has hacked into his site and locked him out. He's gonna try to figure out something and hopefully he'll get it back online.Ken Plaza
I know he was 911 dispacther, then later he said he was driving a regular run for a orange juice company and didn,t have as much free time as he used to have. It was a really nice site. It's a shame people do such things after a lot of hours were put in to build the site.Sonny Powell Roberts Rail Services Servicing the North Eastern Railroad Corporation and the MSTS Communityhttp://www.nerx.us/ http://www.vnerr.com/
In the wake of the site problems noted above and Jason's job commitments, it appears that the site will not be back up anytime soon. Hopefully Jason will see this and comment himself, but it's my understanding that both leisure time constraints (which are also affecting progress of the new A-Line) and the substantial costs of web hosting impacted the decision not to resurrect the site.I expect that once the new route is ready for uploading that the members of the A-Line team will find a way to get some kind of site back up and running.
Given the comments above I would guess that it would be better to wait for the new (or revised) A Line, rather than use the one (from 2002) currently on Train-Sim.
Until the new one comes out, the original is a pretty good route to run and was very well done. You can download it and use it. When the new one comes out (no release date yet and from the look of the above comments won't be anytime soon), you just delete the old route. In the meantime, don't let the delay or their site problems prevent you from enjoying this.
I wonder if there is anyone out there who has done additional detail work on the original A-Line route. It is a great route and lots of fun to operate, but there are so many areas without scenery. I don't think the author would mind someone adding to his good work.
