Hi to all,I made some adjustments to the trackmonitor so the conjunction with MLT's "Sigview" is better. Here's what I did. in the "GUI" folder in your MSTS directory there is a folder called "DRIVERAIDS". This folder has some .ace files in it which account for the signalcolors you see in the Trackmonitor. I changed them all to white. So the trackmonitor is now more like a routemap (engineers in my country always carry one aboard) with only (white) indications as to where to expect a signal along the route. It works very well; only drawback is that it will affect all your routes.Have fun!
Nobody interested in this?! Geez.......OK here's another one. I noticed Sigview wasn't working very well in Whitefish 2 so I looked for a solution. The problem was the signals just disappeared (or popped-up) to soon. First I changed the radius value as suggested by MLT- I changed the 0.11 radius value to 1.24. Things got some better but not as much as I would have liked... I realized the problem was probably NOT in the signalradius but in the distance between signal and driver. The solution was rather simple; it happened the LOD's for the signals were rather short; for instance in Whitefish 2 the min. polygonlevel at max. visibility distance was always 500; I just doubled that distance using ShapeFileManager. The shapefiles to be modified in WF2 are in your routes/shapes folder:US2BSigDouble US2BSignal1A US2BSignal2 US2BSignal3 US2BSignal4I'm very pleased with how it all works at the moment. A real improvement! If you have any problems implanting this stuff do let me know.Cheers,P.Pete
This is GREAT! I noticed that if you just remove the "blob".ace files from the folder (or put them in a new folder so it can't find them), the signal indication disappears completely from the track monitor. I don't know how to change colors, so I had to do this. Now, you can't even tell when a signal is coming requiring complete engineer attention to the horizon to see the actual signal. Bryce
I removed the "blobs" too and am enjoying the challenge. Any way to get rid of the text for next signal and distance at the bottom of the Track Monitor? I tried messing with the font setting a little but I'm working in the dark!
