Another sad day in MSTS… ShawnD

Some of you may recall the young 11 year old, Shawn Davidson who was battling cancer and spent most of his time confined to a hospital.
http://www.train-sim.com/dcforum/DCForumID3/23181.htmlOn Sunday, Shawn went in for surgery for a lung transplant. About an hour into the prodecdure, complications started. At 10:34 am, young Shawn lost his battle with lung cancer, 3 days short of his 12th birthday.

I agree with Brian's words... that's sad, I do hope in the near future they find a cure to cancer... all this is driving me nuts

(Sigh,)....why are so many children dying at such tender ages?(of cancers, leukemia, brain tumors, etc).... I am so very sorry to hear this. I can't imagine how hard this is for Shawn's family. Even though most of us never had the chance to meet him, he was clearly a fighter who didn't let this horrible disease beat his spirit. My prayers are with his family.Andy

I think it was him telling us that he was being told off by nurses for using his Laptop under the Bed Covers ? Why do good kids like him have their lives cut short, their great talents being lost to mankind !There is far too much money spent on things people do not benefit from !I feel deeply for his parents and all his friends everywhere, but be happy that you all knew him at least for some time in his short life.REST IN PEACE !O t t o

It's always a sad day when one so young passes on....my thoughts and prayers go out the the family; I am so glad all of you out there worked so hard to provide him with some happiness with the MSTS for him. It's good to know people care. My granddaugher battled childhood luekemia and now, thankfully, is in remission....I know what the family went through, and I'll always remember Shawn....

True, and I should have said that earlier too! Even though he is in a place with no more suffering, for those that are left behind, the grief is just beginning. My condolences to his family, his fiends and others close to him, and to this MSTS community, who were inspired by his short time with us.I often wonder why the young and the good are taken, yet I know to, that even if we don't know why, the Lord above has his perfect purposes for everything. Although we don't know the reasons now, one day all will be revealed and we will know. Yet, in my human understanding, my heart is still deeply saddened by his passing.
