Yes YOU may be able to do this...The update to the Mersyside Railways, on of the best UK routes I think has been posted to UKtrainsim. It is supposed to feature the West Coast Mainline from London to Crewe and to Liverpool. I am setting it up now, getting my Class 87 ready and I will see what there is to see....BobFlorida Railfan Page

RE: Now boarding at London Euston, express service to L

Just to add to Bob's message, I believe David Corfield (route author) also intends to upload it to T-S too.Someone on the UKTS forum has just pointed out that you MUST NOT use Route_Riter to compact (as opposed to check) this route: it will be trashed and you'll have to unzip it again.Hope that helpsPaul

>That was me.The route has the option of setting the era to steam or modern.
If it is set to steam, Route Riter will see the Modern stuff such as overhead gantries as unused and delete them.I did it while set to modern and watched all the semaphore signals go down the plug hole.

I find that it's quite incompetent. MSTS won't load unless Train Store is used to kill all the other routes, When Mercy is loaded it crashes several kilometers down the track because it can't find various texture files. Route Riter takes about 15 minites to "check" the route and although it says that it fixed the route it was unable to. Route Riter checks all of my other routes in under 2 minutes. The other routes do not have any missing files. All of that downloading Version 1, Version 2 and then Version 3. What a waste of time. It's all deleted in the trash bin and MSTS is once again happy.

I am having a problem. I had a working copy of Mersey 2.0 (backed up, of course.) I installed Mersey 3.0 per the directions, but the sim locks on the loading screen. Both Route Riter & Route Control say there is nothing is amiss. I usually get routes running, but this one has me baffled. Anyone else having a problem like this.marois999, I had the same problem last night and did the same thing...trashed it all. Went to UKTrainSim and got the files there (where I got the original Mersey files) and tried a new install today with those files...still no luckBill

OK, I found the problem. Is there a need for 429 paths????? Tehachapi, with all the add-ons and bonus activities (including the latest Santa Fe on T) only has 289 paths.Bill

Hi Bill,I got it load, but it did not appear in the list. I loaded it into the AE and found that I didn't get the new paths so they were all broken. I manually copied over the new paths and now it shows up in the list. It's building the terrain buffers now so I still don't know if it will run.Edit: It's running!
Regards,Eric

I had no problems, if you read the readme it says it will hang up for a few minutes before kicking in. Mine takes about 2-4 minutes. But when it loads it is fine. Slower machines may have issues thoBobFlorida Railfan Page

RE: Now boarding at London Euston, express service to L

Bob,I finally did get it to load with all the path files in place. I guess I've been totally spoiled by Train Store and expect everything to load in a flash. My computer exceeds the "test computer" mentioned in the ReadMe in every aspect, so I may have been expecting too much. I do think the mention about the long loading time should be in the ukts_readme_first file and not in the ReadMe V3.0 file inside the route. My original problem with the installation was that I had downloaded it early in the afternoon from Train-sim. At the time I downloaded, only seven files were up and since there was no mention of the total number of files, I thought I had them all. After installation, the route, naturally, wouldn't load. Route Riter gave a six-page list of missing files!! It wasn't until I went to UKTrainSim that I found out that there were a total of eight files.Anyway, it's all worked out now and it is a great route...I just have to go get a cup of coffee whenever I want to run it. Bill

Yep I'd love to run this route as I have some personal knowledge of a part of it...
In the mid '80s I was stationed with the US Contingent of a NATO Unit at a Command Post aboard HMS Warrior, the RN training base at Northwood... Administratively our boss (and the payroll department) was at the US Embassy at Grosvenor Square so we had to go back and forth regularly.
I spent more than one evening or two "commuting" in and out of Euston (Funny way to spell Huston isn't it?) station going into London to "party" (something we sailors have been known to do occasionally in between attending Sunday School services.... Chuck Schneider

RE: Now boarding at London Euston, express service to L

I have ran it twice...Around W-Junction is hangs for a few sections. I have placed a MASS amount of traffic on it to get realistic flow. Once out of the city it cruises.Coming into Crewe it hangs a bit again. The route does have the Great White Void at least the old one did going south. I will have to see.As far as the traffic paths, I like having them as it allows me to create activities faster. I will most certenly do a modern activty pack for this route. I also visited the area in 2002 and hung out in the W-Junction area and saw about 20 trains in 30 minutes. The volume of trains on thw WCML is incredable. Again it may stress older machines....BobFlorida Railfan Page
