RE: How to watch a train at a crossing?

You need to do a forum search for info on this. You can't actually watch the entire train from a specific vantage point. If you hit Ctrl/Shift/9 in the no. 4 view it will at least lock the camera while a portion of the train passes. Some players do report, as a fluke, having occasionally seen an entire train pass.

RE: How to watch a train at a crossing?

Another way to do this is to open the route in the RE, go to the crossing/interlocking you want to view from railside and place a yard object. When the train arrives at this area, press numeric key 7 for yard view. You can zoom the camera to any viewpoint within this area and stay there. Once in this mode, you can "fly" to any part of the route landscape. See warning below.I'm not sure, it's been so long since I may have done this, but there might have to be a modification to the camera view settings in the camera control file. Someone, I'm sure will mention it or there might be something in the file libraryWarnings: Do not be in this mode when the run ends or the player or any other train crashes, the sim will lock.I've created several complex interlockings just for "railfanning" from trackside. I pull the player train onto a siding, "get out" and watch the AI trains interact at the interlocking, arriving at stations, entering and departing yards.Regards,
Hank
