Recently had the unfourtinate occurance of Train Simulator wanting to call home while checking some bonding boxes. While trying to uncouple cars the simulator had a fit and was continually coupling and uncoupling and finally crashed with the send don't send message, Since then some of the add on activities crash while trying to load. Not all of the add on activities are affedted. Upon trying to load an activity The sim will revert to the desktop and the following error messages are displayed. This is from Whitefish2 route, Bonners Ferry Local which was working OK before the send don't send episodeService Bonners Ferry Local placement at start of path of path "bonnersferrylocalplayer" failed.Clicked on OK and next error was displayed.Failed to set up trains for simulation. Activity: Bonners Ferry Local.Clicked Ok and next error was displayed.Failed to initialize activity manager.I have tried deleting and reloading routes and still get the error messages. Route Riter shows no errors when the activities and routes are checked. I was running the "Timesaver" route local 1 when this happened. I had not added any route previous to this, nor had I added any cars or locos. Conbuilders is showing 50 locomotives and 128 cars. I have the original 6 routes plus 4 add on routes. X tracks also installed. Computer is an HP Pavillion a305w, 2.7GHZ processor, 40Gig hard drive, with 512 mb of ram, and does not use a graphics accellerator card or sound card. Frame rates are running between 20 to 70fps.Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.Nascarphan
When these things happen to me I run "go-back" which is a software application that saves previous configurations and restores the drive to a former, working state. I believe WIN XP has it as "restore" or some such. You will lose any data or anything saved on the hard drive after the date/time you go-back to. However if you do it right after the glitch occurs you will lose little or no data. I find I use it often when fooling around with MSTS....Dave
You said you were "checking bounding boxes". Exactly what were you doing? The car behavior you describe may be due to bounding box issues. Had you changed any bounding boxes or coupler values?

Joe, I was changing the bonding box on the US2FREIGHT7 which was only 1/2 of the width of the car and was also working at adjusting the height of the car. I changed the bonding box back but still am having the problem.Nascarphan
I just went into the activity editor to check on the consists at the path starting point and found that the activities that crash the sim are missing parts of or all of the starting consist. Is this going to have to be resolved by reinstalling Train Simulator?Nascarphan
Try rebuilding the faulty consists first. Or create a new consist using the original consist name. Just pay attention to weight, length, and Horse Power ratings in original consist.Cyndi
Cyndi,So far I have completely deleted one of the routes by using the windows search function and deleting all files associated with the route, and then reinstalling the route. The consists are still missing all or parts of starting consist. I then tried installing the consist using the activity editor which showed the right consist and still have the original problem. It appears that something is affecting the placement of the consists on a few of the routes, but not all of them.Nascarphan
1. Run Route Control to see if you have any faulty services, faulty consists, missing engs or cars. Faulty consists will be placed in a back up folder out the sims reach.2. Open the Activity Editor and move the starting points away from any signals, switches, platforms etc. While you are there check all paths for player & AI traffic.Cyndi
