Aug-24-01, 08:20 PM (EST) "GeForce3 stutter" I just upgraded from a TNT2 Ultra to a GeForce 3 and the color is great. The problem is there is a stutter while driving a loco on Marias pass with a lot of trees. This didn't happen with the TNT2 Ultra. I'm using the same resoultion (1280x1024x16) and have donloaded the latest driver from Nvidia. I went to 1600x1200x32 and the stutter is still there with no loss in frame rate. Was I suppose to turn somthing off, like antilasing or like that? Can anybody help?ps. Running a T-bird 1.4 w/512Mb Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top

Aug-24-01, 10:24 PM (EST) 1. "RE: GeForce3 stutter" One thing to check if you haven't already is the video setup option, to get MSTS to recognize your new video card. Also be aware that the stuttering is more related to how this program uses memory than anything else, and the guys reporting no stuttering problems at all have 6 or 7 hundred megs of ram, and usually an ATA-100 7200 rpm disk drive, or one of those real expensive SCSI jobs. The visibility slider seems to have the single biggest effect on framerate, and on my AMD 800 with a geforce 2, I've found that turning the quality sliders up instead of down actually improves FPS. This program is extremely wierd. Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top

Aug-25-01, 05:08 AM (EST) 2. "RE: GeForce3 stutter" Which sliders in the "Advanced Display" tab of the "Options" dialog box should I set to reduce the stutter? I have 933MHZ Pentium 3, 512MB PC133 SDRAM, two 20GB 7200RPM ATA100 hard disk drives, GeForce 3 video card, Sound Blaster Live! X-Gamer card, Windows ME, DirectX 8.0A, and NVIDIA 12.90 video drivers. Aug-25-01, 08:52 AM (EST) 3. "RE: GeForce3 stutter" All sliders maxed to the right, same as when I was running TNT2Ultra. No stutter on that card but you could tell that I was getting a frame hit at 1024x768x16 when going by a forest.

This is driving me crazy! Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top
