It says in the read me that parts 1-6 are for the route, while parts 7-10 are for the rolling stock to run the activites. If I do not plan to run any of the activites, or use any of the rolling stock, do I still need to d/l and install those parts, or can I just d/l and install the first 6 parts?Chris Bogley

RE: Coal Road 2 Install Question

G'day, can't answer your question as I don't have the expertise to delve too far into the devilish machinations of MSTS.....however, (and I could be wrong here, too ) if you don't get the trains and rolling-stock, you will miss out on one of the Great features of the route, and that is the Sounds ! Gavin has done some wonderful tweaking and has increased the 'enjoy' factor of driving this route by the inclusion of a variety of 'sound surprises'and......why would you not want to run Oz stock on an Oz route ?
an SD40-2 would look totally out of place in the bush.}> regards
grandpa

I am sure a lot of work was put into the activites and trainset / rolling stock, but for one I don't have the time to run activites, and two, I don't want the space taken up on my HD.

RE: Coal Road 2 Install Question

Well, I got the route installed by only d/l'ing and installing the first 6 parts, and then deleting the contents of the ACTIVITES, SERVICE and TRAFFIC folders. So far I have explored about an hours worth of this fantastic route, and hoipe I have time to see the rest of it. Great job Gavin. BTW, I only get a few .SMS error messages, so I am not sure if I am just missing these files, or what. I get other custom .SMS sounds throughout the route, so not sure.Chris Bogley

RE: Coal Road 2 Install Question

Yeah, those, plus two others in the first 10 miles or so, asking for surburan_truck and suburban_traffic.sms files. In all cases I click ok and keep on going.Chris Bogley

RE: Coal Road 2 Install Question

Glad you like it.Those .sms files are in the SOUND folder in part 7 of install.
Better download, and run installer to temp location and dig out
the SOUND folder, and manually put into the main sound folder.Gavin
