I have noticed that some of the engines that I have in my trains folder are labled as helpers. For example, there is a consist of 2 SD75's that comes with the either the Cajon or Tehachapi routes, I can't remember which, that are designated as helpers. Is there anything that could be different in the .eng file that would make a locomotive act or perform differently when used as a helper?
The answer to your question is probably not as simple as you might expect. The locomotives designated as you describe probably are only reversed .s files. Now to most modern equipment using the .eng files most commonly encountered, they might be equipment set up to operate without cab, and dedicated as nondrivable, but probably not different performance parameters. If you find a locomotive that is using the V4.7 beta files, the lead locomotive should be as the V4.7 file, while the trailing and helper units should have the antislip line added. Bob
