Unless copywrite forbids it (can't imagine that, for this would be free advertising)... perhaps some screens for those of us that do not have a subscription to the newsletter?I'm interested in seeing what sort of freight potential the route has. (I'm not a passenger train enthusiast.)Andre MingVisit V Scale Creations Forum at: http://www.3DTrains.com
Quoted by O t t o from the FACING POINT Mailshot:"Pacific Surfliner v1.0 will now include some phenomenal new freight locomotives to pull those countless "Z Trains" the Surfliners have to weave through between Los Angeles and Fullerton. More info on the new trains to come...""...and in another first for MSTS, a whole new level of interaction with trains & dispatchers!""I've included a few images from our 'AMTK 566' activity, where, in a first for a Train Simulator activity, a freight train crossing a diamond in front of you goes into "Undesired Emergency" and blocks your path. While you wait, the BNSF San Bernardino Dispatcher contacts you over the radio to give you an update, then notifies you of a broken crossing gate about 10 miles east of your location. Eventually, the train clears the diamond and after you've put another eight miles behind you, your conductor radios you with a quick reminder of the broken gate. Good thing he did... you set some air to get your speed down, and come upon the scene.... the Signal Maintainer is there with his red flag to protect the grade crossing. Pretty cool, isn't it? ...and in case you're curious, when you run the route again in a different activity, there's no signal maintainer, no red flag, no problem!Amtrak 566, Flashing Yellow at MP141... Yellow at Soto... All RED at San Pedro "(There is some audible interaction going on here between the Dispatcher and the Train Crew, my Outlook Express would not play but am sure the SURFLINER will ! )
Thanks Otto!Looks/sounds interesting!3DTrains/Marc appears to have done a fabulous job on the "modern" freighters!!Andre MingVisit V Scale Creations Forum at: http://www.3DTrains.com
Yes, one of the activites simulates a malfunction at a crossing, which you are infromed of my a talking dispatcher, and upon arriving at the location, there is a worker with a red flag protecting the crossing. However, somehow, it is only for that activity that you see this. All the other times you go through there, and it is normal, with no worker present.Chris Bogley Syracuse New York www.msnusers.com/AshleyPhotography www.msnusers.com/tehachapirails3rd shift Production, Krispy Kreme, Syracuse NYAmtrak "American Eagle" Activity Pack, Summer 2004
