I'm sure it's worth it.. it's just a b*tch to download though. I've been trying to download it without success for the past 4 hours now with it always timing out or freezing. I bet there's a ton of people trying to d/l it making it impossible for those who started it earlier to complete the d/lLast time I checked the size it said: Size: 63,774,092 bytes. now I have no idea where you got 6 MBs from? It's more like ~60MBs cdntrains

Model A1 - Sounds Totally Suck

The bell might sound good but what about the horrible cruising sounds. They have totally over-modulated the engine sounds so that they are completely distorted. What they did to the sound is equivalent to trying to feed your 9V clock with 120 Volts of house current. They should send me the original undistorted source files and I will fix 'em.

The sounds are that much off. I've had real one's that sounded "worse". There's always the 3DTS sounds people can alias to if they have them.

I just got it myself too. TOTALLY WORTH IT! Even if you aren't a CN fan, this locomotive truly raises the bar on textures and 3d model. Even the sounds kick ass. This locomotive is definetely on par with the latest payware stuff, it even gives the MLT SP Heritage pack a run for its money. If you look through the vent behind the conductors side, you can actually see right through it and see the duct up to the fan. Very realistic. Grab it guys, you won't regret it.New CN SD75I files in Library – image 12~The only way to ship~

It comes with textures for 2 locomotives. A virtual cab view, custom sounds and I think a partial cabview that hasn't been implemented as of this release. The sounds alone take up alot of the download. After unzipping:Each locomotive: 35.9MBSOUNDS on each loco: 10MB on player, 1MB on AI
CABVIEW: 20KB
Tex/eng/.s/etc.: 25MB on player loco, 25 on AISo thats the rough totals there. Trust me, put it on over night and when you wake up, you'll be very happy you did.New CN SD75I files in Library – image 19~The only way to ship~

IE.....NALW's fantastic addons, most are under 63meg,
contain more content than this one, and have real cabs and sound.Sure, new locos, SD75I's , and they are fantastic looking locos.
just cant justify 63MEG!!!!!! for em!The file size difference, between the mentioned NALW content,
and these SD75I's is unrealistic and bordering on the absurd!!Even TKW's quality locos top out at maybe, if memory serves me right, 5-7 megs each!10-4

>Dude, you didn't need to post another 2 times if you don't
>want to download them. Just don't. i posted another 2 times for us 56kers here,
so you didnt like it., read what im talkin pls.YOU Called me a 'DUDE': read b4 you reply ............1) n :a man who is much concerned with his dress and appearance2)\Dude/1970\,Up until this point, "dude" had referred to a well dressed male. That all changes as California surfers begin to use the word "dude" to refer to any male they are addressing. 3) read all you like , I Have a life:The original meaning of this American-born word is still its first definition today, 'a man excessively concerned with his clothes, grooming and manners'. I thought that dude was an old word, but I thought wrong. I guess it's because the word sounds vaguely like duke, and all those titles of royalty are fairly ancient. But dude first appeared in print in 1878. The Random House Historical Dictionary of American Slang cites an 1877 reference in a letter--not published, however, until 1988--from the painter and sculptor Frederick Remington: "Don't send me any more women or any more dudes." By 1883, dude was in wider circulation. In June of that year, its popularity was noted by Massachusetts’ North Adams Transcript: "The new coined word 'dude'...has travelled over the country with a great deal of rapidity since but two months ago it grew into general use in New York." By 1885, it had established a strong enough foothold to appear in Ulysses S. Grant's Personal Memoirs: "Before the car I was in had started, a dapper little fellow--he would be called a dude at this day--stepped in."Fairly soon, a dude came to mean an Easterner or a city slicker, and especially someone who vacations on a ranch--thus dude ranch.Dude also spawned quite a few odd derivatives, such as dudedom, dudeness, dudery, dudism, dudish, dudess and dudine--the last two meaning 'female dudes'. None of these is in general use today. I thought dudess might have had a revival as part of the surfer culture; however, Malia Alani of Surfer Magazine said no. She e-mailed me that "I don't think there is a feminine word for dude. A traditional Hawaiian word used commonly for women surfers is wahine." (Note: following the appearance of the column, several readers have informed me that dudette is the feminine form of dude. A quick search of Nexis confirms the word is, in fact, current. Thanks, everyone.)The meaning of the word as 'a male person' has been in wide use since the 1960's. This is from a 1968 book called College Drug Scene: "And I got into symbolic logic and semantics with a cat who had studied with Korzybski and electronics from a dude who had an Associate of Arts degree in anthropology from 1941." The use of dude in direct address to a male began much earlier. This is from a 1945 book called Silversides: "Hey, dude, there's a ship out here!"The origin of dude is uncertain. There are a few speculations, the most interesting of which, to my mind, is from A Dictionary of Slang by Eric Partridge. He says that it may have come from the word dud--which, at the time, meant 'a delicate weakling'--"influenced by attitude."Awesome, Dude.so DUDE , you read my posts, and hammer me,
thanks for yor input,I Aint no DUDE, but maybe youre a DUD!

"The file size difference, between the mentioned NALW content,

The only thing absurd about it is you sir.Oh, and do you want ours to be payware? s\ Sure, we can do that, more money for us. All we have to do to make you happy then is take them out of the file library, resize the textures to 256x256, and kill the sounds? Will that make you and your 56K happy at 7-10 mb? I bet you won't make the people happy who have cable modems.

Marko, it's like watching TV, don't like what's on, either change the channel or shut it off. Heck, maybe you can pay someone to put it on a CD and send it to you?One thing that did catch me was the regular cabview is the default Dash9, I'm thinking what the heck? Until I hit passenger view. Attention everyone else making passenger views for their locomotives....the bar has been raised.Gentlemen, very fine job on your work, and it was worth the wait.John

Wow ,I can't believe what I'm reading here.First if you don't want it don't D/L it.
Second if you can do better do so then you won't bother those with the talent to do these engines for the rest of the sim community to enjoy.
The way to enjoy this sim is learn it from the inside out create your own and see how long it takes to make something work properly.
The gang at CMP its a terrific engine and a BIG THANKSJust Rollin Down The Tracks

RE: New CN SD75I files in Library

I can't believe that someone would criticize something just because it is a large file. I guess you don't have anything but the default routes on your sim. If you've tried it and you do not like it, then and only then, are you entitled to offer constructive criticism. To say "these SD75I's is unrealistic and bordering on the absurd," is an absurb statement, in itself. These locomotives are among the best I've seen. The attention to detail is astounding. They certainly do raise the bar.A word about cable modems...those of us who have them, pay a premium price every month...a price we gladly pay for the priviledge of having broadband. For those who do not have broadband available in their areas or for those who simply cannot afford broadband (or those young ones who simply can't convince mom and dad that a cable modem is a "good investment"), my heart goes out to you. Believe me, I know what it's like to have it and lose it...a house fire forced me to give up my cable modem for almost a year and I was in dialup hell during that time. For those who do have broadband available and are too cheap to open your moldy wallets...please quit whinning.
(BTW, Marko, as long as we're in a critcal mood, you could try and brush up on your grammar...these SD75I's are unrealistic)Bill

Hey, the locos look great, just wondering if the cabview with the vertical control stand is coming. There is nothing worse than an

Disregard the previous statement except the part about the locos looking great, I was so busy slobbering over the exterior view that I didn’t even think about the #5 cabview, WOW!

Marco, checjk into that as if you have cable you could get it, but DSL is sketchy because you need to be living within x amount of feet (x is the variable number) form the central switching office. Also I've downloaded then (because I get up early in the am) and haven't used them yet. I'm busy with work and other things as well.
They aer installed, but unused No offense but when life gets to you you only have a little bit of free time. the free time I got was from CP9102's screenshots of it. So I decided to go and get them.

Well I'll be - I haven't been here in quite some time but happened to have some time. Came across this post and started thinking "My God, I've seen this train (#5664) somewhere before ..." When I get that feeling I'm rarely wrong about it.So, went looking thru my images and sure enough, in my photos from Durand, MI last fall I found it. Quite surprising, I do say.Yea 30 MB is huge for an engine, but I have to get it now - even tho it is only because I've seen the real thing in person (less than four feet away from it at the Durand station). So here you go ... some prototype photos to compare against.
