I have a horn problem and i am not quite sure how to fix it, i downloaded some nalw genesis engines and now all my engines are alised to the genesis. I still have the horn i was using in the common snd folder, but i can't figure out how to change horns to make it work.

RE: bnsf lady i need your help

John:
I take it the sound folder is in the Genesis folder. The easiest way is go to your common.snd folder and COPY the 2 .wav files for the horn you want. Remember 1 will have a small x_ in front of it. Paste them into the Genesis sound folder. Look for the original 2 .wav horn files and rename them. Rename the 2 .wav files you just pasted to the original names of the ones you just renamed. Any problems, you got my address.Cyndi

John (Cyndi FYI) if you've got all that going on it sure sounds like you didn't use our installers as the Genesis sound package is placed in Common.Snd/Genesis and the horn sound /Common.snd/Horns and the Eng files are aliased to Common.Snd/Genesis/alias.....I am assuming that you also have goten all of the Genesis packages properly installed?????Gen_Pak1.zip
Gen_Pak2.zip
Gen_pak3.zip
Gen_pak4.zip
opt_pak.zipAnd the matching sound upgrades....
Gen_Snd2.zip
Gen_chug.zipThis is the complete list of downloads you need to properly install the entire NALW Genesis packages.....I'll bet a dollar to a donut that youre missing at least some of those files and probably the Gen_Snd2 file if I had to guess....This is the reason we switched exclusively to Megapacks...
Invariably someone will only download part of a package and then wonder why they don't have all the neat stuff everyone else is talking about....P.S. Or as a thought occurs to me, You may have Bob Fotaine's (A.K.A. Ti Bob or the Genesis Man) Package which is totally different from ours.....

RE: bnsf lady i need your help

Hi Chuck:
I just got e-mail from him. It sounds like the download may have overwritten 1 or 2 of his horn files that he likes. Simple fix.Cyndi

RE: bnsf lady i need your help

Chuck
I downloaded
gen_pak 1
Gen_pak 2
gen_snd 2
Everything just went fine, the only thing is in the common sound folder, sub folder horns, i am using this horn which is aliased to all my nalw engines and the defult D9.
x_K5LA_1
x_K5LA_horn1
when i downloaded the genesis, this horn ended up in the horns folder
all by its self,
K5LA_horn1 so all that is in the horns folder is what you see, i have the rest of my horns in a backed up folder that came with the gemega pak.
So now all my engines use the K5LA_horn1. Its loud when you hear it on the outside and rather faint on the inside.I think the chug sounds fine but i will get the file.
Any ideas?
Thanks for all your help

John
