Dear everybody,I went to the Great American Train Show today and I met John and Jim "Sniper297" Ward there. Next thing you know we started talking about what else the PO&N! I did print out the messages concering the PO&N so Jim does have it and possibly working on it. Apparently we somehow remembered seeing me many years ago at IRM (Illinois Railway Museum for those that don't know).Status of him: He's been working on misc. tasks since the passing of his dad. He's been able to finally get out of the house. He also got SBC Yahoo! DSL over there but apparently he can't upload something more than 12MB's.That's his current status. He also told me about the error msgs people have been getting ie: failed to find sms, rigid car body, AI fouled up, etc. There's nothing to my knowledge that can change cause of the Kuju bug as he calls it.Hope this helps. Any comments will be appreciated.Sincerely,Dave Hammer

Dave,What! How! if! Whether! When!As you went to the trouble of contacting Jim, I...we would of hoped that you asked the number one question: "When are you coming back Jim?" You did ask him...didn't you Dave?Mike<>Jim Ward's status – image 1Michael Sinclair

RE: Jim Ward's status.

Thanks a bundle, Dave !What you did not know at the time of meeting him is that I fixed the Activities and having tested all of them, they now start and as far as I have run them, without any errors whatsoever and are available at: www.otto-wipfel.co.uk/downloads/pon7act.zip .This will remove one chore from Jim's TO DO List ! And if you are reading this, Jim, if you can not Upload anything sizable to the Forum, put it on CD for someone else to do it for you ?TAKE CARE, O t t o.

RE: Jim Ward's status.

Thanks for the update, Dave.Beyond responding to the same messages on the forums, I can't claim much of a connection to Jim, but I've certainly missed the wit and wisdom of his posts. My selfish side is hoping to see him back here soon. But having lost my own dad less than 3 years ago, I know some of the difficulties in returning to "normal." I'm glad Jim's getting out and about for a bit of recreation, and wish him the best in difficult days.Andy

RE: Jim Ward's status.

Firstly, I'd like to echo Andy's comments entirely. Secondly, regarding version 7 of Jim's great PO&N route - Would it be of any help if those of us exploring the beta version that Otto kindly put up on his site made a note of the lat and lon co-ordinates of any scenery glitches etc we come across? These could maybe be passed on later to Jim. (If he's still working on the route that is.)Regards, Nick (UK)

RE: Jim Ward's status.

> Nick,
>
> like? says Dave, tongue in cheek ! After fixing the Activities which had a misplaced Consist problem, there is nothing much I can find wrong with the P.O.&.N.-7.3 and never have done with any of the previous versions. Perhaps the odd Cosmetics here and there but far less noticeable than in any other Route I have driven in.Nevertheless, changing Program Code is always asking for Trouble and I am sure any Creator of such Software would appreciate FEEDBACK about anything he may not have noticed himself. So yes, note anything you may think worthwhile which needs fixing and Jim, being something of a Perfectionist, will attend to it ! Wishing him well and hope he is going to appear in this Forum again soon !O t t o

RE: Jim Ward's status.

I got Jim's but he did not reply lately and the Mail was not returned "Undelivered" either. So I just thought that he is busy with more urgent matters. He will be in touch again when he is ready ! But would like to have John's too so that I can mail him messages to pass on to Jim ? Use the "Send EMail to..." Icon above. Thanks, O t t o.

RE: Jim Ward's status.

Nick, knowing Jim I am sure that he will appreciate Feedback but think that at the moment he has got his hands full with other priorities. But keep making notes of what you think could be improved upon, what it is and the Co-ordinates and when the time comes for Jim to get back to do some work on the P.O.&.N. pass them on.I am doing the same, not that I have anything serious I would like to mention as yet, ignoring things like a tree in the track, etc. O t t o

RE: Jim Ward's status.

Dave,I E-Mailed John a message about what the problem was with the Activities so that Jim can correct it in his Files, but also suggested that he downloads my fixed versions too, save him having to do it all over again.John is a member of the Forum himself. All you got to do is E-Mail him the Links to Posts you think might be of interest to Jim, if he has not read them himself already and reported to Jim.O t t o
