Hi all...is anyone aware of any diesel locos with lights that illuminate the area behind the loco, for reversing during nighttime activities? How about add-ons to place backup lights on existing locos? Thanks, Chip
The Canton RR RS1 switchers use a crafty method. Dick Cowen has set them up so that the "rear" light ( they run long hood forward usually ) is bright when the switch is in the "dim" position and the "front" light is dim. In the "bright" or high position, the "front" light is bright and the "rear" is dim. You could examine the lighting section of these locos to see how it was done.

Thanks drjoe, I'll check that out. There must be a way. I can see, for instance on the back of the GP38 there appear to be a pair of lamps, but I can't find any command that turns them on. Maybe the answer is in the RS1 files. Ummm...which file would I be looking in? (I haven't tinkered much with .eng files and such but I am willing to try).
Chip: Judd Spittler has a pair of GP38's with reverse lighting. 1 replaces default #2081 and the other is 2098. The files are 2098.zip and 2098ev2a.zip.JuddSpittler.com also has nice track texturesCyndi
