I was just browsing the MLT website and found a brand new FREE (that's right) BNSF C44-9 to download.
No time to chat, must download, but I thought I'd point it out for those who haven't found it yet.http://www.mapleleaftracks.com/EN-USA/free.htmlJim.

FYI: Jason needs to fix the installer. By default, it dumps everything in the main TS directory. Until it's fixed, you'll need to set the install path to the "...\Trains\Trainset\Dash9" folder.Cheers!

Wow what wonderful response. Thanks so much and we're glad everyone likes it. Sorry about the install bug, we'll get it squared away ASAP. I see that no time was wasted in removing the MS logo heh heh... and for those wanting to do renumber the font I use is a Corel Draw9 font called Swis721 but Helvetica would also work.=|GoldenPig

Just a quick note. Once installed the consists that used the default dash 9 will show locomotive unknown. That is because in the engine file the capital D was not used, make necessary corrections and there you have it. Posted from another user on the MLT forums.

Thanks for posting this engine all you MLT guys. It beats KUJU's by about 10,000 miles. Your stuff, as well as all the other payware vendors I've dealt with in the MSTS community, is top quality. Thanks again!GrizzlyFree C44-9 from MLT – image 13 Free C44-9 from MLT – image 14

GoldenPigI downloaded it on Friday evening and everything works great. After teasing us with a whole bunch of your new models its great to finally play with one. I can't wait to see one in SP and UP paint! Your attention to detail is astounding. You even placed the pin above the coupler. I also like the bearings moving in the wheels. Very cool!!NickBNSF Conductor Trainee

It created folder Trains/Trainset/Dash 9 properly for me.I will admit, though, that I did copy/save the default Dash 9 elsewhere "Just In Case"...but turned out not to need the copy/save (fortunately...)

RE: Free C44-9 from MLT

For me on my program of MsTS there is an unknown lcomotive when I clicked the Route & Activity Selection on Marias Pass and pick the consists and here is an unknown locomotive for Dash 9. I just unzip and installed this into the path, E:/ProgramFiles/MicrosoftGames/ TrainSimulator by self installer which provided by Maple Leaf Tracks. Now tell me how to get this solved with the problem of "an unknown locomotive." What would I do for myself is to delete the whole folder of Dash 9 in Trains folder in the program of MsTS and copy and paste the Dash 9 folder from my MsTS CD Disk. That would be solved without any problem. Hope somoone tell me how do to an self-installer of BNSF Dash 9 from MLT in a right path into the Dash 9 in the TRAINS folder of MsTS.ThankyouJohnP.S. I know there is another solution to solve the problem is to correct the dash9.eng file in notepad??

RE: Free C44-9 from MLT

Your p.s. is correct, make sure that all Dash9 references have a capital D. That will make from the unknown a Dash9 again. For the installer not installing in the correct install path,, you can re-download the Dash9 from the Maple Leaf Tracks website. They've corrected that issue.

RE: Free C44-9 from MLT

Well, it's a great locomotive, all hands agree - but I can't solve the "unknown" problem. I've edited all the .eng and .sd references to "dash9" to "Dash9" and I still get no joy on a loco ID for the original MSTS Dash9 activities. Any suggs?

RE: Free C44-9 from MLT

Did you download the latest file from Mpale Leaf Tracks website?? Because they fixecorrected the problem now and I did download again with the latest zip file and installed it right into Dash9 folder in Trains Folder. It works now with no more word, "unknown" locomotive. Go and try it again and you will see the word "unknown" will not be appear anymore.ThankyouJohn

RE: Free C44-9 from MLT

This is getting frustrating. I had replaced the stock DASH 9 with a replacement model by Justin Cornell some time ago, and I thought that might be the problem. So I replaced the folder with the MSTS Dash 9 from my install disc. I note the replacement files in the MLT version are still using lower case, despite the correction to the install problem; the original actually uses all caps.
