RE: Horseshoe curve route?

You just answered your own question. Horseshoe is suppose to be the MSTS2 route, set in the 1950's however. There is a freeware version of the route from what I understand, but I have also heard it is a very bad reproduction of the route, with choppy trackwork, and this and that.Chris Bogley

RE: Horseshoe curve route?

Horshoe was indeed set to be on the routes on MSTS2, as was York to Manchester. Whether that is still the case is anybodies guess. As far as I am aware, MSTS2 is being set up from scratch, as Kuju "didn't know their ass from a hole in the ground" (Randy Newman quote! I love the Rednecks track, irony that really bites! ).David

RE: Horseshoe curve route?

David,Is there an English Route available that covers the route of the Cornish Express down thru Exeter and Plymouth in to Penzance? If there is is there any Great Western steam and rolling stock available as well? Hope all is well with You and Yours!

RE: Horseshoe curve route?

Hi Don,At the moment, I don't think so, but there are a number of new UK routes in the pipeline. The best sounding route is the White Rose, running 200+ miles from Kings Cross London to York. I too would like a route from either London or Manchester, running down to Cornwall. As for GWR stock, there is loads of it. The Severn Valley route has some brilliant stuff (I am not too fond of the route, the trains are unbeatable), as does the Cambrian route. You can find a lot of trains and wagons at the UKTrainsim site as well.I am fine, and wish you well.David

Thanks David for your quick response! I've ridden both routes, Manchester and London, down to Penznace. I am particullarly interested in the London route as I am very fond of the trackage in and around Dawlish...many pleasant memories. Having spent much time in Cornwall I can sse why writers referred to it as the "Cornish Rivera". One evening, after one to many glasses of Port, I decided to take the train from Manchester to Shepley England. Twas an adventure that I shall not forget! Again...Thanks!!!!!!!!!!PS: Will hope to see such a route with a good rendering of Paddington!!

Best Regards...Don Shepley

LOL!If Don drinks Port, he is OK by me, and I have had the Gout to prove it! (Taylors is the best BTW!). I met my wife who came from Swindon on that same route, so I should hate it!, but I still love her after 34 years, so the route has happy memories. I have always loved Cornwall, and most of my holidays with my children were down there, with many a happy hour building dams at Trebarwith Strand, playing cricket on the beach, or just watching waves. I first galloped on a horse down there, an unbelievable experience for a novice who regards most large animals with extreme caution. Cornwall is unbeatable.Sorry, no flames here.David

RE: Horseshoe curve route?

I was so sure I would see a flame war on this one after seeing Davids name listed 4 or 5 times. What the hell is the forum becoming if we can't count on David any longer? This had better get ugly by the time I get home from work Sat. morning or no Krispy Kremes for any of you!Chris Bogley
