Tried to install Conrail Indy tonight. I extracted the 5 zips to the Train Simulator folder, borrowed an installme.bat from Lehigh and ran it (only took a few seconds .. I expected longer), then launched the sim. Crashed to the send-don't send in the first five seconds. Why does this have to be so damn difficult? I really want to run the route!krswen

RE: OK, what am I doing wrong?

Hmmmmmmm ... I guess all installme.bats are not created equal. I tried it again borrowing the batch file from MP 3.1 instead and it ran longer and the route installed OK.I'd be nice if the installation instructions warned you about that. Actually, I wouldn't have known about the need for the batch file at all if it weren't for some threads on this forum.krswen

>krswen Sounds to me like you jumped the gun and assumed something was needed when it wasn't. READ ME's are there for a reason, to be read. You don't follow the instructions carefully, and bad things start to happen. Not trying to be a d**k, but when people start assuming things after downloading files, thats when things start to get screwed up, like MSTS won't work, and this or that.

RE: OK, what am I doing wrong?

You don't need an installme.bat...All of the files you need are included. I repainted some of the default objects for this route... for instance, the South Anderson yard office started out as the Browning depot from Marias Pass. This was back in the days before I knew how to hack shape files directly. If you use an installme.bat, you'll get the default Browning depot instead of the South Anderson yard office. All you need to run the route are the five zips (plus the documentation if you want it), and XTracks 3.7 or later.Hope this helps.Bruce Bridges

Bruce .... I love the route! I started in Avon and am exploring the length of it before I tackle any activities. This is going to become one of my favorites (since I'm familiar with the area). Nice job!krswen

RE: OK, what am I doing wrong?

Glad you got it working.Did you unpack the zips again to overwrite the default files the installme.bat copied in? Otherwise, you won't see any of the stuff that I customized.

Bruce
Just a quick question.
Is the email addy in your crossing gate readme still active?
I sent an email with some attached pics in a zip and just want to make sure I didn't send them off into the either.Gary S
