Aug-13-01, 06:23 PM (EST) "Revised Essex Turn Activity" LAST EDITED ON Aug-13-01 AT 06:26 PM (EST)For anyone who has had problems running the Essex Turn, I have just uploaded a revised .apk to my site at http://overseasrailroad.railfan.net/flarrfan/essxtrn1.htm
It will, of course, overwrite a bunch of your files from the original activity, but shouldn't affect anything else on your system. The revised activity changes a couple of AI train start times and adds a pop-up message in the form of a radio call from the Ft. Worth dispatcher relating to a faulty signal. I have also heard from someone who encountered another signal problem at Nyack (although no collision, luckily), and hopefully my adjustments have fixed that as well.Anyone running the original or revised activity and having a problem, please let me know with a forum post or an e-mail. Hope this works for everyone. Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top

"RE: Revised Essex Turn Activity" Nope, just go to the web site, download and unpack...if you unpacked the first one, you'll get some overwrites, but this is a newly revised full activity. Anxious to see if I have caused any more collisions. Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top

Aug-16-01, 01:18 AM (EST) 3. "RE: Revised Essex Turn Activity" Just Got in from running the Local, it worked fine, still no update on the F11 workorder however it completed fine. Boy lemme tell ya that Pit siding, I had to go deep about 3 times on the air, in fact I had to tie her down at one point to get more air, ( which is WAY to fast in MSTS!) oh yeah DO go out and get the update for the GP... i didn't and you will need the DB's for sure... I give this activity a 9 outta 10, the only reason for the 9 is the fact it used the GP, ehehehRR Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top

Aug-16-01, 01:24 AM (EST) 4. "RE: Revised Essex Turn Activity" Where do I find the GP38 upgrade? I looked for it earlier and came up fruitless. Enjoyed the actvitiy immensely though. I too had to back down the Essex Pit siding with about a 15lb reduction on.

Aug-16-01, 07:11 AM (EST) 5. "RE: Revised Essex Turn Activity" Appreciate the comments. I may have omitted a comment or trigger for the first couple of setouts, still learning my way thru the action event process and activation settings. As to the pit siding, I kept everything under control with loco brakes only, still waiting to hear if that is prototypical or not. Essex Turn 2 may be delayed some. Have a 'puter problem right now that won't let me run MSTS, hope to find time to get it resolved this weekend. Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top

Aug-16-01, 09:28 AM (EST) 6. "RE: Revised Essex Turn Activity" I also used the loco brake. Much easier to control.AFAIK, version 2.1 of the loco physics update is in engup2_1.zip. However, I installed it from another file that includes it. I don't have the zip reference anymore, but it's version 1.1 of a lighting and physics update by Rob Easterday and Steven Alexander.Bert Lattan
