Hello all,I've been having a little trouble with these cabooses. I'm running the mine run activity for the new PWV route and when I start the activity from the beginning there are no problems with the N&W cab # 518599, but when I go back to a save point on the activity, I get the error - 'Failed to open shape file: n&w cupola cab 518599/nw518605.s'. Now this caboose is part of the consist you make up at the start of the activity, where I don't get any error messages, it's only after I go back to the activity after I have saved it. I'm at a loss here. Thanks.Mike

RE: N&W cupola cabs

I would check to see that the Shape lines in both the nw518599.wag and nw518599.sd files are pointing to the nw518599.s shape. That type of error is usually the result of an inadvertent typo.

RE: N&W cupola cabs

Tim,Thanks for the reply. Both the .sd & .wag files are looking for the nw518599.s file which is there in the folder, but in the .wag file there is this reference: Inside (
PassengerCabinFile ( nw518605.s )Now I believe after the loading of the saved activity, MSTS is looking for the cabin view (F5) of the caboose, which will not show up at the beginning because it's not part of the player's consist. I tried to change the nw518605 to nw518599 , but I get an error. I'm at a loss here.Mike

RE: N&W cupola cabs

Mike,nw518605.s is in the same folder, and there are no typos or capitalization errors that I can see, so i'm as much in the dark as you. the next thing i would suspect would be a problem related to the number of total consists. are you using train store?Tim Baldwin

RE: N&W cupola cabs

Tim,I don't have the nw518605.s in this folder. When you download the cabooses (cabeese?), they are seperate folders, 3 different road #'s. Do you think that nw518605.s must be in each folder? Seems kind of crazy. Number of conists are not a problem with this activity, only 2. Yes I do use TrainStore, Souldn't everyone be? I'm going to try to add the nw518605.s file to the folder and see if that clears this up. Thanks. Any snow up there yet?Mike

RE: N&W cupola cabs

Tim, I made the change by adding the nw518605.s, that didn't do it. I had to add both the nw518605body.ace and nw518605cupola.ace to the folder and that did the trick. All this for the F5 view!Mike

RE: N&W cupola cabs

When you move the files to get it to work, the caboose will have the number of the file but the inside view will show 518605. Makes you check your thermos for white lightnin!

RE: N&W cupola cabs

When I unzipped the 3 caboose files to a temporary directory, all were placed in a common folder called N&W Caboose, which I then moved into my trainset folder. I've been using IZArc for the past 6 or 8 months, and I've had far fewer problems than with any other similar utility.Tim Baldwin
