It happened… Again – image 1

Once again, Train Simulator failed to load. I am going to have to reinstall it, again. I think I have a bad copy or something. This has happened every few months. It's things like this that would push me over to TRS2004.

RE: It happened...Again

Hmmmm,
There are a number of things that could cause this.
Most of my problems have been due to a bad consist file. I am amazed at how a bad consist file can cause so many problems.
Now I am not saying that is your problem and solution. There are many factors that can cause MSTS not to load but I have only had to reinstall MSTS only once.
Try moving all your consists out of the train sim folder and see if MSTS loads. You can't run any activities, obviously, but you might track down the problem.
Try downloading RouteRiter and ConBuilder and run them.
Anything to keep from reinstalling MSTS.
I know how that feels!Iggy

RE: It happened...Again

There is always a good reason why things suddenly don't work the way they used to. Mostly caused by something the user did or did not ! Hardware problems would affect all activities on a machine. If it affects the running of MSTS only then it is usually something you added to or changed in MSTS. Could also be something installed by other Software, such as DirectX-9, etc. The most important aspect of Computing is to do frequent Back-Ups, System and individual other important Software on your machine, such as MSTS.If anything goes wrong, restoring the last good version of whatever should let you carry on and try again.O t t o
