Maybe:1. the sun was in their eyes and they couldn't see what color was displayed;2. they were on a downgrade and their dynamic brakes weren't all working; 3. they were on an upgrade and didn't have enough power to do 70;4. they were going to ask the dispatcher for permission to enter the next block; 5. they were behind schedule. 6. they never slow down for that particular signal, 'cause everybody knows it don't work anyway--most of the time.

This is they way the designer set it. I do not know if this is a default value or they are in relation to the posted speed limits. I have just started to look at some of the signalling things. It always fuzzes me when I am in a 35 mph zone and the yellow shows a 40 mph limit. I have been looking at how to change that. But the only thing is that it would make it unique to my system unless I included a revised sig file with my activities. I think this is something that route designers need to look at as they do their routes, they CAN change this.Kevin Arceneaux DEFAULT IS FOR DUMMIES Cry havoc and Let slip the dogs of war. Kevin, that's not as bad as showing a (yellow) 40mph in a 15 mph zone I may be wrong, but after trying everything with my route, I think that particular issue may be hard-coded into the sim. If anyone finds a solution, I'd sure like to know about itRobertR .. ADF-M&RM at http://www.adfrr.com

Nobody would , and that isnt what is meant by this. Its an approach_2 signal which isnt what most people understand as an approach signal. MSTS signal terminology doesnt directly equate well to real life signalling terms . There are for example 3 differant types of approach signals approach_1 , approach_2 and approach_3 and the 3 categories are simply to enable signal designers to make more aspects available . The closest MSTS equivalent to what most people call an approach signal is approach_1. A typical signalling sequence in MSTS could be Clear_2 - Approach_2 - Approach_1 - red, where only the approach_1 signal carries a speed restriction. In Bob Siederers re signalled MP3 , there is a very good description of how the MSTS signalling terminology might be applied to fit in with real world signalling terminology. Also, on the MSTS Install CD, there is a description of how to write signal scripts and what the various terms mean.MD
