RE: 3d glasses

I tried them a long time ago back in the early days of the glasses. They do work and everything does look 3d. That part was pretty cool. The thing I didn't like about them was it's great for a novelty but I wouldn't want to drive the sim for long like that. Prices were something like $80 a piece when I tried it. If the price has come down a bunch, I'd be interested again. There has been some driver updates for it since too so they may be a whole lot better now than they were back then. My wife experienced 'flashing' when she tried them too. I don't know what the flashing was all about but I just thought it was best to return them.Rich Garber

RE: 3d glasses

My 3D glasses (which sit unused; they came free with my vid card) said you'll see a flashing effect if your monitor is less than 100hz refresh rate. If your monitor will support 100hz, you should be able to eliminate the flickering.Bret

RE: 3d glasses

Thanks for the help. since I posted this message I've got them working. The flashing you saw could be several things
1 monitor must be able to run at 85-100 htz
2 you must get the right drivers for your vid card from the edimentional web site
3 lower the resolution in the sim( the 3d effect makes up for it and also improves the frame rate)
3 after setting up the glasses in the set up screen, and then going back to the sim some times it does flash slowly. if you exit, ESC END ACTIVITY then restart that usually sorts it.4 shut down all back ground programs I hope this helps they are well worth the effort once they work.David

RE: 3d glasses

Sorry I wasn't more clear on this. Using the same setup and glasses, where as the image appeared fine to me, my wife saw flashing instead.I don't know what that meant but I figured between that and the lesser image quality and the price, I would try them again once the price has come down.Rich Garber

RE: 3d glasses

well you aslo need to realize that the glasses are probly still in there experamental stages so give them a chance. with time they will get better. I use the glasses on my Star Trek Bridge Commander and its 100% awsome i think. Perhaps it all depends on your system.Stephen White

Oh and have a nice day.
