Well, I say lets try this all over again. I'm sorry for my actions for the earlier post. I have locked it for the things I said and were said about other members. The first thread will not be deleted. This is unedited.Respect on Train-sim.com comes very lightly... And yes.. I am gonna vent a tad.. Mods.. most then welcome to post your opinions on this as well.
This is a game, a game that should be enjoyed. Not having people bitch, moan and complain about the tiniest thing. Not to fight over something totally stupid and mudane.Do people care what really happens to anothers person work? No, not really. Some do, most don't. It is the sad truth, but it is that. The truth. They run it, they use it, regardless of what other people think or do. It is a common basis of ALL games, not just restricted to Train Simulator.Payware is a touchy subject to talk about that I have noticed on this board. People are going complain that something is to much, people will complain about the smallest possible thing to start something. Why? I have no idea. It is even more so for people who do freeware. You can never really have a win/win situation, it just isn't possible, regardless of what happens.Respect on this forum is hard pressed. Basically as some people have stated several times. If you don't do anything, besides post and lurk and download, you are a troll. That is TOTAL Bull. You are a troll yourself for not even helping the person out with simple question. Respect is a 2-way street, you have to earn it before you receive it, and that goes for everybody, not just for one person, and one thing for sure, it sure in the hell doesn't matter on your post count. I could careless about anybodies post count on here, it is revelant to the matter of this forum. It matters on what you know about the GAME then what you THINK you know. The only thing I have submitted is Realistic Consists a long time ago, now does that make me a troll? No it doesn't. Do I come off as a hardass at times? Yes, I do, but that is what you have to adjust to, being a moderator on this forum is simple compared to others.Crap, went off topic.Anywho, basically what I am saying is 3 things.1. Please PLEASE resolve matters such as this in email. Jim and Paul, I know you both don't get along at all, but you both need to shape up. I've been a nice guy and tried to help out. So has others, but to be honest, your both so thick headed about your guys routes that it gets to be quite well, stupid. *No Offense, can't think of the right words*2. If you want "respect" regardless of what you are doing. You have to earn it. That is for everybody. If you have 1 post for 9000 Posts. It doesn't matter. If you don't like it, you are more then welcome to leave this forum.3. Lastly. Don't call people on this forum trolls unless they really press they're luck. Somebody is new is amply called a Newbie, or noob. Whatever you perfer, but calling somebody for making a simple post because he/she can't find something isn't needed. Point them to the search feature, or tell them how to find that specific thing instead of saying "Ha, your a troll, go blow yourself"Anywho, that is my take on the situation. I'll let everybody else express there opinions. . . . . . .*edited.. just noticed the title.. heh*

LAST EDITED ON Oct-02-03 AT 00:03 AM (EDT)

Brian and eveyone else who wrote things on the first thread:Recently I have taken to scanning things on this forum, but not posting much. I also go to other train-sim Conferences and the files section. It saddens me greatly that people have to be so ugly to each other. I know thats the way the world seems to be, but train simming should be a fun thing which can be open to anyone. We all should be able to help each other without having to put on flame proof clothing. Lets try to pull train-sim back to being a place where people can come to share their joy for train sim and to help those that need it.I have said my bit. I am done.

Thank you, for a Moderator finally stepping up and asking for calm. It is now the turn of the community to step up and raise there own personal standards of conduct on this forum. Petty differences aside, fine-tuning critiques left un-mentioned, and disrespect where none is granted. It is up to everyone to make this forum a better place, are you, as a member of the community, part of the solution or the problem? What can this community become?Respecting Others on Train-sim.com – image 5

Sharon so true....so many forget that its a game but built around a simulator.
Brian I can side with you for we've talked about how this here forum has been going into the toilet but it can be saved. Now to all you posters that are in the 1000's...just remember you were once a newbie.Just Rollin Down The Tracks Dale

Brian, This matter has been resolved in private and I appologize to everyone that this got out of hand. I purposely stay out of disputes unless I find no way around them. Nothing good comes from them other than to tarnish ones name.Regards,

RE: Respecting Others on Train-sim.com

Teaching individuals to conduct themselves in Society in an acceptable manner is something which should start with Parents and continue later in Schools, Employers and others these individuals may have to depend on later in their lives.I seems that the world and it's population is heading toward total disregard for each other in Words and Deeds, standards of behaviour being diminished by the day. I find much of what is on Public Display in the media and in their own homes, growing up children model themselves on, totally unacceptable. You can not even give kids the occasional smack if justified ! Trouble is, the clock can not be turned back. It has got to be dealt with the moment unacceptable actions, events and situation arise. It has been tried over and over in this Forum, to little effect. The only way to deal with it is "ON THE SPOT", that's your job, MODS ? Excluding certain offenders from further participation in these Fora !That should teach others to stay within reasonable bounds of communicating with each other, here in our Fora and in the outside world in general ?Good Luck ! There was this guy centuries ago who tried to change the world, they crucified him !O t t o

This is just like model railroaders act. Some of the experienced have no patience for us ignorant souls who don't have the skills they have.'The butt you kick on the way up may be the butt you have to kiss on the way down"

> Some of the experienced have no patience for us
> ignorant souls who don't have the skills they have. Most of the "more experienced" members have plenty of patience, the few exceptions slowly learning to have some more. No names mentioned ! But we tend to lose our patience sometimes with the manner in which some individuals behave. I am ignoring most of that and don't bother to get involved. Of no benefit to those who could have learned something, including myself !O t t o

RE: Respecting Others on Train-sim.comI did let my fiancee read this forum (she never did before) Her immidiate impression was how nasty people were toward another. I already gave up this forum, but when someone asked me a question about a thing I made I came back (doh!).
Seriously gents and dames, things are going bad here. Maybe we should have a special forum section for people who can get along? (rgh69)

RE: Respecting Others on Train-sim.com

As the one who was being made out as the bad guy yesterday I'd like to say that yesterday's business got WAY out of hand and it was allowed to go on far too long.I didn't misappropriate anything yet I am now characterized as a "lier and a thief" and regardless of the proof I provided to substantiate my position in order to let the community form its own opinion. I have also provided written documentation to Nels and Brian supporting myself which I hope have served their intended purpose.I am moving on beyond this subject and going to try my utmost to avoid any further involvement in this debate. Make your own decision. Take sides, if you will. I know where I stand from a legal standpoint and have a clear conscience.I'm really NOT the bad guy that I'm being characterized as being. I sincerely hope that level heads will prevail and realize this soon.

RE: Respecting Others on Train-sim.com

Brian:First of all my apologies to you. My posts were interpreted by others (and probably by you also) as a personal attack on you. That was not my intent. I hole-heartedly agree with your original post. What got me was after your post about "Respect" you then got into a fight with another forum member. Whether that fight was warranted or not was not for me to judge. But what bothered me was I felt "oh no here we go again" but this time a Moderator was involved. I guess what really happened was I vented my dislike of the continuing downfall of this forum. That isn't your fault and I'm sure you are trying your best to stop it. So actually I was guilty of "adding fuel to the fire" as it appeared I was not supporting you and attacking you personally.Again my apologies to you and the other forum members who felt I was attacking Brian.PatchCrew
