I was wondering what locomitves do you use on Sea View 4. See I am triing to make some ore activities going from the Mining Dome/Storage Dome to the 3 ports. But I can't find a engine that can take the sharp corners with ease. I have been using sv_gp35.zip by Keith Fair. It has excellent power but it will still get jamed on the corners if you have multiple units lashed together. So what do all of you other Sea View goers use?

I run a little of everything, but GP9's work well.Generally, on Sea View with a long consist you need to spread the power out. Placing a helper or two mid-train and on the tail end help quite a bit. Chances are pretty good that all of the engines won't be in a bind at the same time. You also need to make sure that your cars aren't too long either. If your entire consist is binding on the corners, all the power in the world isn't much help. -Jeff

I use cars from MLT's LS&I, which are all under 40". I placed 3 engines in the front and 2 pushing. The front 3 aren't too bad but the 2 on the rear are what really bind up. I don't get that.

Yep, that is one that can. The only problem is that the loco is a little weak, but is it a 0-6-0 switcher. Great job on it

Eh, where did my signature go?
Oh, here it is, the one you are reading right now? Can't you see it? I know I know, it is probably too bright to see it.
Anyway, I told you not waste time reading my signature! You have just wasted 10 seconds!

The F units from the LTV mining train, ABBBA with the ore cars, appear to be short enough to use everywhere on Seaview. Be aware, the grades going out of Ocean Bottom are quite severe, so, you will need lots of power if hauling a heavy load.SRV Ron

RE: What engine do you use on Sea View 4?

Nice to see someone making activities for my favorite route.Just a note to anyone planning on making activities for the Sea View series. Currently Sea View does not contain a full set of working signals. Hence it is very difficult to create activities that have opposing AI traffic. I am currently working with Bill Burnett in making an upgrade that includes a fully functional signal set.Cheers,
