Forgive me for being an idiot, Do any of you have any suggestions on how to optimize the performance and quality settings for MSTS?

After several years of trying to optimize my own system, the only thing I can suggest is try the maximum of everything, then run your favorite route and consist and watch the image quality and frame rates as you go. Then, back off one parameter and see what difference that makes to your system's performance. Eventually, you will arrive at the conclusion that some features can be turned off, and others turned down a little. However, unless you have a super fast, dream machine, you may never be entirely happy.

What has me wondering are the Antialiasing setting & Anisotropic filtering controls? This dumb Ranger can't figure it out.

I have a 5600 w/256MB, running in combo wiht an AMD Athlon XP 2400+ and 1.5 GB Pc2100 DDR SDRAM..I am running latest nVidia drivers, and have AA set to application control, and Aniso to max.TS options to full.
