Aug-12-01, 11:08 AM (EST) "INITIALIZING SETUP ENGINE" Has anyone out there in MSTS land had or is having
a problem installing this program,(like me).When I
first initially installed back in June, everything
was fine.My problems started when I kept losing parts
of my Activity Editor, specifically the ability to
place consist.I wanted to recopy files,it took 2
tries.Setup would quit responding! Well I got the
bright idea of uninstalling and reinstall the program.
That was a fatal mistake, because I CANNOT get this beast
to install!! It takes 25min to initialize setup engine,
then it takes about the same amount to calculate disk
space,(I have 5 gig free). Then when I do get the install
window with options,(I tried both,default and custom)it
needs to calculate disk space AGAIN....LOL! Unfortunatelly
somewhere in that half hour it quits responding.Any info would be appreciated...ThanksIf anyone is curious my prime mover is a PIII running
at 1.1 Mhz. Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top

Aug-13-01, 01:08 AM (EST) 2. "RE: INITIALIZING SETUP ENGINE" This may not help any (depending on how adventurous you are with regedit), but it's what I had to do to get everything back up again. After uninstalling, bring up regedit, look for hwrenderer (leads you to the trainsim settings if any are left) and basically zap it along with completely removing the entire trainsim directory. Before doing this, I simply moved my trains directory and copied from the routes directory, the services, paths and traffic directories of the routes I had addons in. It has actually worked pretty well a couple of times. When you 'play' you 'pay' and I've become an expert at 'paying' Hope this helps. RobertR Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top
