Sd90's – image 1

LAST EDITED ON Sep-08-03 AT 05:45 PM (EDT)

What's the deal with Kyle Fawson's sd90's, In my opinion there is no better than NALW, To offer payware sd90's on the heel's of NALW EMD pack is probably not a good idea.Jerry

RE: sd90's

Well you do have the option of not purchasing them. And why would it be a bad idea to offer a product that another group isn't offering.I hardly believe that Kyle and the good folks over at NALW are in some type of competition.Do you have anything to offer????

What's the deal with Kyle Fawson's sd90's, In my opinion there is no better than NALWYou obviously haven't purchased them. Its a custom cabview, custom sounds and the textures you can't beat!! If you look in the library its been Kyle that's really made the NALW products shine. No offense to NALW's textures but you just can't beat photo textures applied to models. Nick

No I have not purchased them, and the reason why is that there not available. Again I was not putting down his work, I am looking foreward to getting them. We cannot ever have enough high quality sd90's,80's,70's. The fact of the matter is, is that there are alot of people who will not pay for them.Jerry

How can you compare the two?You havnt seen shots of NALW's and havnt ran them.So its pretty unfair to compare the 2.

Competition with NALW????
I don't know where this came from. There is no bad blood between myself and NALW! I have almost everything that they have created and I'm thankful for guys like them! They have been here since the early days, and have broken ground on many new innovations for MSTS. Where are the SD90's?
Well, they are currently getting more work done. I have corrected some minor details on both the models and textures. It was also pointed out to me that some of the cab components were not "kosher" for being payware. That was brought up by some members of NALW so maybe this is where rumors of bad feelings between myself and NALW have come in to play. I will put that rumor to rest right now. There was never any bad intentions on their part at all, and I didn't take it that way. In fact I appreciate it being pointed out (as will all who get the 80s and 90s) because it has pushed me to create an even better cabview than I previously had!Custom sounds......
I do plan on having custom sounds eventually, but it is a long tedious process. I do have some "connections" with new groups I am affiliated with, but I am trying to do this on my own first. I have decided however not to let the lack of custom sounds hold me back from releasing them. They will be offered as a free upgrade once they are complete. To those who are die-hard rivot counters, if you don't like the fact that it won't be released with custom sounds, then you can wait if you want. I am not twisting anyone's arms to purchase them.I appreciate the patience of those waiting for these locos. I am trying to perfect them so that they won't disappoint! The last thing I want to do is do a rush job and release a poor product!
There are some screenshots floating around the forums here at this old post: http://www.train-sim.com/dcforum/DCForumID3/19321.html
But for now, these are a couple of my favorites:Sd90's – image 13Sd90's – image 14

It sure looks pretty Kyle....
Just wait until Concaddy gets a look at that SD80mac. As far as the cab "stuff" is concerned, IIRC all several of us did was warn Kyle that he can't use default MS/Kuju Objects if he is doing it payware... Would hate to see them lower the boom on the model as we'd all lose on that....

RE: sd90's

To offer is not a good idea?!? Do you know how long some of us have been salivating over this *gulp* dare I say it, UP repaint?!?! I'm not a huge fan of the 'yellow borg', but when it comes to Kyle's UP-MP repaints, they are absolutely top notch. I'd love to see him do some work on SD50s and 60s. They look awesome Kyle and I'm looking forward to putting those to good use. Can't wait!Jason

Kyle,
That is the first time I have seen them, I must say they look very good. I would like to say that I was not comparing your's to there's, I just stated that NALW were my favorite, meaning add-on's for MSTS, Also I was under the impression that you were only offering a few UPsd90's, I had no idea that you had sd80's in CR,CSX and NS liverie, I am sold. Are these all in a pack and is there a chance of a vertical control stand. Kyle, please re-read my post's in this thread. Were do I sign

Did all of the sd80mac's have desktop control's, I know that Conrail and NS liked vertical control stand's in some of there sd70's, It was just a thought, but if it is not prototypical for sd80mac's then I appologize. I will be the first to addmit lack of knowledge, that is part of the reason I joined this forum.Jerry

>Did all of the sd80mac's have desktop control's,Yup, all of the ones I've ever been in or seen pics of have the desktop controls. Same as their SD70MAC's (made to CSX specs). And don't worry about being wrong. That's what's great about these forums. Learning new stuff and being corrected when you're wrong.
