Hi,I had an idea that sounds great, having the BNSF radio chatter play in the Passenger View while inside the Caboose cupola along with the regular track sounds.I tried to add the BNSFcab.wav to the GenFreightWag1.sms. Couldn't get it to work in a number of tries. Don't have that kind of experience in Sounds.Can anyone get this file added to the GenFreightWag1.sms file, or better, the Dzug sound file?Thanks
Ted

Hi,IMHO, a better way is creating a seperate sms file for the Caboose.
Create a Sound folder inside the Caboose folder and put the .sms in that folder.Then call the .sms file from the Inside, like this one:
Inside (
PassengerCabinFile ( orw-hw-observation.s )
PassengerCabinHeadPos ( 1.2 2.35 -10.37 )
RotationLimit ( 90 180 0 )
StartDirection ( 0 -90 0 )
Sound ("BD_obs_pass.sms" )
)The BD_obs_pass.sms is this file:
Tr_SMS ( Skip ( *********************************** )
Skip ( *** Orient Express Piano Wagon *** )
Skip ( *********************************** ) ScalabiltyGroup( 5
Activation ( PassengerCam() )
Deactivation ( ExternalCam() CabCam() )
Stereo()
Streams ( 2
Stream (
Priority ( 3 )
Triggers ( 3
Initial_Trigger (
StartLoop ( 1
File ( "..\\..\\380\\Sound\\oe_pamb_full1.wav" -1 )
SelectionMethod ( SequentialSelection )
)
)
Variable_Trigger ( Speed_Inc_Past 2.0
ReleaseLoopRelease ()
)
Variable_Trigger ( Speed_Dec_Past 2.0
StartLoop ( 1
File ( "..\\..\\380\\Sound\\oe_pamb_full1.wav" -1 )
SelectionMethod ( SequentialSelection )
)
)
)
)
Stream (
Priority ( 3 )
Triggers ( 2
Variable_Trigger ( Speed_Inc_Past 2.0
StartLoop ( 1
File ( "bd_owv_music.wav" -1 )
SelectionMethod ( SequentialSelection )
)
)
Variable_Trigger (Speed_Dec_Past 2.0
ReleaseLoopRelease ()
)
)
)
)
)
Skip ( ** As above but no piano ** )
ScalabiltyGroup( 3
Activation ( PassengerCam() Distance (55))
Deactivation ( ExternalCam() CabCam() Distance(50) )
Stereo()
Stream (
Priority ( 3 )
Triggers ( 3
Initial_Trigger (
StartLoop ( 1
File ( "..\\..\\380\\Sound\\oe_pamb_full1.wav" -1 )
SelectionMethod ( SequentialSelection )
)
)
Variable_Trigger ( Speed_Inc_Past 2.0
ReleaseLoopRelease ()
)
Variable_Trigger ( Speed_Dec_Past 2.0
StartLoop ( 1
File ( "..\\..\\380\\Sound\\oe_pamb_full1.wav" -1 )
SelectionMethod ( SequentialSelection )
)
)
)
)
)
)Seems to me that you can do simular with the chatter sound.In this particular case, the music starts to play when the train is running at some speed.When you look in the 380 folder, you see an example of continue running sound in oebarpas.smsDick van den Hoven"Radio Chatter in the Caboose Cupola?" – image 1

Got it to work!!!

I got it to work.I have the BNSF Radio file in my Common.Snd/General folder, from which I do the usual alias to get the radio in the various engines. To get the radio to work in the Passenger View (#5) in the Caboose, I've done the following:1. In the Common.Snd folder, I added a sound file:.....CabooseRadio.sms2. In the file is (the radio will play at the high and medium settings): ScalabiltyGroup( 5
Activation ( PassengerCam() )
Deactivation ( ExternalCam() CabCam() )
Stereo()
Streams ( 1
Stream(
Skip ( **** Radio Chatter **** )
Priority ( 6 )
Triggers( 1
Initial_Trigger ( StartLoopRelease ( 1 File ( "BNSFcab.wav" -1 ) SelectionMethod ( SequentialSelection ) ) )

) ) ) )
ScalabiltyGroup( 3
Activation ( PassengerCam() )
Deactivation ( ExternalCam() CabCam() )
Stereo()
Streams ( 1
Stream(
Skip ( **** Radio Chatter **** )
Priority ( 6 )
Triggers( 1
Initial_Trigger ( StartLoopRelease ( 1 File ( "BNSFcab.wav" -1 ) SelectionMethod ( SequentialSelection ) ) )

) ) ) )
ScalabiltyGroup( 1
Activation ( PassengerCam() )
Deactivation ( ExternalCam() CabCam() )
Stereo()
Streams ( 1
Stream(
Skip ( **** Radio Chatter **** )
Priority ( 6 )
Triggers( 1
Initial_Trigger ( StartLoopRelease ( 1 File ( "BNSFcab.wav" -1 ) SelectionMethod ( SequentialSelection ) ) )

) ) ) ) )
3. In the Caboose Wagon file, I made the following change: BrakeCylinderPressureForMaxBrakeBrakeForce( 50 )
Inside (
PassengerCabinFile ( wvint.s )
PassengerCabinHeadPos ( -1.3 3.76 -0.87 )
RotationLimit ( 30 360 0 )
StartDirection ( 0 0 0 )
Sound ( "..\\..\\Common.Snd\\General\\CabooseRadio.sms" )
)
Sound ( "GenFreightWag1.sms" )
)
When in the Caboose passenger view, in addition to the RADIO SOUNDS playing, the normal GenFreightWag sounds play.Ted
