I have run into 2 activities on the bodiddly route and also on the adfrr route where I get into a condition where a signal changes to red during a major switching operation and the dispatcher or the signal control never returns to green or granted. No other operations appear to be going on so I have no idea of why this happens or how to correct it. I am open to suggestions. After spending a few + hours on a route activity it is very dishearting not to be able to complete it.

I can't help much on the Ohio, but which activity on the adfrr route are you having trouble with and where? It would work best to press the "0" (zero) key and write down the co-ordinates where you are stopped, then a short description of what you are/were doing (besides waiting for the signal) and I can possibly figure out what's going on. Also, what OS are you using? Win98 or ME and up?RobertR .. ADF-M&RM at http://www.adfrr.com

I have had the same problem with Ohio Rails in the activity in the town (can't remember the name) with a coal mine on a switch back. The task is to assemble the train in the yard above the town and procede to the town and switch several industries. Once you are done you seem to always get a red on the exit of the town siding. The only traffic for this activity is a coal train from the mine which leaves via the switch back early in the activity. One thought I had was that perhaps I had missaligned a switch up in the yard area. Frankly if I was designing this route I would not have put signals on this branch line. I have been planing to take a hard look at this problem both in RE to see if I can find a problem with signals and in AE but shortly after running this activity I had a serious problem loading another route and I had to reload the sim from scratch and I have not reloaded the bodiddly as yet.Be Seeing you. Have you looked at your train orders to make sure you have all the cars you need or have delivered all the cars where they should go. Or another thought is you might have finished to quick for an AI train to get where it needs to go. Hope this makes sense. I read where people were having trouble on an activity because the drove to fast and got ahead of the AI trains.

Sometimes it helps if you pull up to the red signal, then back-up just a whisker, (just enough to turn the arrow around in your track monitor). Try that, hope it helps.Jeff

If you use AI traffic, and the AI train enters a block and there is an end of path, the train effectively "disappears", try it some time, place and end of path where you can see it. If the train enters a block and disappears, the signal won't clear because the sim thinks the train stopped there since it didn't pass the next signal.Rob
