All right Bob, hold tight cause here we go From the beginning;1. Download the d9-night.zip
2. unzip the d9-night.zip
3. open the unzipped d9-night folder
4. forget about all the read-me's in the d9-night folder
5. open the DASH9Night folder
6. locate the cabview and rename it cabviewnight
7. move with your mousepointer over the cabviewnight folder and
click on the right mouse button, click with the left mouse
button on copy.
8. close the folder and go to your default Dash9 folder
9. when inside the Dash9 folder, press the right mouse button,
select paste and you will have both the cabview folder as well
as cabviewnight. If not, repeat from step 3
10. You have the SD40-2 night cab? If so go to the SD402 folder and
copy both night-day and day-night files in the same manner as in
point 7.
11. If you copied the night-day and day-night files go to the Dash9
folder and paste the two files as described in point 9
12. You decide whether you want to use the day or the night cab by
double clicking either the day-night or night-day bat file.
Well, there you have it. I can't tell from over here what you can or can't do, so I did it as plain as I could. If it still refuses to work, let me know and I'll cook something else for you.

RE: dash 9 night cabview

Mike-thanks....still no luck...i understood exactly what to do...rename the cabview file cabviewnight and copy and paste in dash 9 folder...i then used the bat day/night night day files from the sd40 folders....when i clicked on the bat files they changed the names of the folders so the night folder became the day and the day became cvfday...but the error message still there..i also tried it on another dash 9....evidently something is missing or not aliasing...any suggestion greatly appreciated....bob zucco

Bob, if you could write down the exact error message that would be very helpful. Let me know if you want.

Aww, my fault! I forgot to mention this;in the cabviewnight folder, look for Dash9Night and rename it into Dash9 That's will do the trick!I completely overlooked that!! Sorry Bob, it shoud work this time if you rename that file. You can forget the 5 files, those are probably the Dash9 shape files. All you need is the cabviewnight.

Hi Bob,I'm glad it's working. I'm not familiar with the P42, that's someone else's creation. As for the night version of the Dash9 it was my first attempt in making a night version of a cab. And as usual the longer you work on something the more you find out how to do things.

RE: dash 9 night cabview

Alright Richard, maybe you can help me out now. I'm pretty much a computer idiot so bear with me. I did all the steps you listed above. I don't get any error messages, but I also don't get the night cab. I have the night cab folder in the main Dash9 folder. You lost me when you said something about a bat file. I don't see anything like that. HELP! What am I missing here? Thanx in advance. Keith

RE: dash 9 night cabview

Hi Keith, If you click on this link you'll be forwarded to another topic on this forum. There I posted a link to the zip file with the needed da-night and night-day bat files. Download the zip and extract it and put the two bat files in your Dash9 folder. From there on (if installed correctly) you can switch between the nigth and day cab. http://www.train-sim.com/dcforum/DCForumID3/19901.html#6
Best regards,
Richard.
