Aug-10-01, 07:38 PM (EST) "STILL NO CSX REPAINTS?" I see a road slug and a switcher in CSX livery at this site's file library. Patiently waiting for some talented soul to do up the CW44-9, GP-38 and SD-40 is CSX' blue, grey and gold. Any other modern diesels would also be great, like the EMD stuff SD60's, 70's and 80's. I don't think CSX uses SD90's at present. You'd have to ask a foamer about that one, but I've never operated one yet.Master Qui-Gon Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top

Aug-11-01, 04:25 AM (EST) 3. "RE: STILL NO CSX REPAINTS?" I'm afraid is just about impossible to paint a Geep 38 in any of the newer schemes because of the mapping/texture problems. Various areas of the body are repeated in unexpected places and produce really weird/annoying results.Hopefully someone will redo the GP38, SD40 and give us repainters a chance of doing a half-descent job.I am just finishing an earlier scheme CSX for the Geep that might be available at the A Line Project in a week or so.Cheers

Aug-11-01, 03:21 PM (EST) 4. "RE: STILL NO CSX REPAINTS?" I have a CSX repaint at http://www.mindspring.com/~jones77/
It has all the texture file problems mentioned.
It should do until a better model comes along.
The texture files are in the zip so you can have a go at improving it.Later
Bryan

Aug-12-01, 03:30 AM (EST) 7. "RE: STILL NO CSX REPAINTS?" Thanks for all the replies guys.
I already use the 3DTrainstuff livery for the Dash 9.
Not to criticize, and I certainly appreciate their efforts, especially having it available so soon after the sim was released. But their CSX livery needs adjusted. A few color inaccuracies. Yellows where they don't belong, and places that should be yellow that aren't.. I didn't think CSX had SD90's, thanks for the verification.Master Qui-Gon Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top

Aug-12-01, 10:36 AM (EST) 8. "RE: STILL NO CSX REPAINTS?" Hi Master Qui-Gon,Thanks for the kind words. And yes, you are correct about the colors on the CSX 52 skin, however, we were limited to what we could do with the MTS model due to the way it has been mapped. Heck, we even considered not releasing it at all because of those problems.Anyhow, at some point down the road we will make our own Dash 9 and probably an 8 as well, and then we can do it right. For now it's still one of the better CSX skins out there, and many people have told us that they are enjoying it. Btw, since we made it available on our site, it's been downloaded over 40,000 times! Yes, there is alot of CSX fans out there including yourself, and we have something special for all of you that we will be releasing here in the next week or so In the meantime stay on track!Cheers,

Aug-13-01, 04:43 AM (EST) 9. "RE: STILL NO CSX REPAINTS?" Brad,I'm glad you didn't take my last post as any kind of complaint. It is quite a nice repaint. I also get much enjoyment out of it, as the others you described. I look forward to your future releases.Master Qui-Gon Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top

Aug-13-01, 04:48 AM (EST) 10. "RE: STILL NO CSX REPAINTS?" Oh, and for the record, I run engines for CSX in Maryland and Pennsylvania. Only, I don't get near as many CW44's as I'd like. We still use a lot of SD40's and 50's in road service.
Any time something with a wide cab turns up on our head end, it's like riding in style to us. They're SOOO much more comfortable, especially the air conditioning in July and August.Master Qui-Gon Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top

Aug-13-01, 11:01 AM (EST) 11. "RE: STILL NO CSX REPAINTS?" Speaking of C44s about a month ago I got to go inside the cab of #516 with #515 behind it. They were BRAND NEW, builders date was June 17th, so this was quite possibly one of there first trips that wasnt testing. The standard is to send it from Erie, PA where there made up to Buffalo and back to Willard Yard in Ohio or to Pittsburg, then east via Cumberland where it probably got on a train from Baltimore and passed through where I saw it. Ironically, it was on a slab train, which is a heavy train of about 75 gondolas with giant steel slabs thrown in. Those cars are some of the most beat up around. But inside the cab, everything was perfectly clean and the door was still hard to open to get inside because it ws so new. Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top
