I Have Somehow lost the 2nd MSTS CD, I still have CD#1. I need it because I really messed up my routes folder because I accidentaly deleted all the routes and found out that you can't restore the default routes from the recycle bin if you delete them. And I have had a lot of MSTS send/don't send messages so have needed the 2nd CD to re-install.

You might want to try what I did,I've had no problems(my original install is chugging right along) but I did find at the local Target the latest version(with all the patches and the TA upgrade) for 19.99 and picked it up as a just in case copy.Gary S

Please work this out with Microsoft, (or your local retailer to get another copy) it's clear that nobody here is going to help, right?

Well I for one am PO'd that M$ won't let me make a backup copy of my install media! Not to worry though...I found an ISO of CD-2 (the one with the copy-protection) so now I have my original disks plus a backup copy.

Speakin' of copying the default routes, how exactly do you do that anyways? Is it just copy/paste, or do you still have to reinstall MSTS (which is what I do)?

Re-install is bad though, at least for me because if you cancel or it fails... it not only deletes the install it made but the install that was there before too... its really quite annoying if you've made modifications to default MSTS files and locos.Looks Like a Pony Need To Borrow a MSTS CD #2 – image 4 RUNS LIKE A STALLION

The disc 2 seems to have some kind of copy protection. It took very long time to copy it. I don't give a #¤"#%/ to the copy prohibit because I'd rather just make a copy instead of asking new cd's from M$ when the original gets damaged. Everyone at work uses copies of the original cd's as well. Luckily the corporate cd's are not copy protected so it's easy to backup them.

My copy is not copy protected and I've burned a back-up copy and keep the originals somewhere else in my home.

I'm not sure if the Euro-version has copy protection, but disc 2 didn't work in one of my cd-roms. Haven't tested with all (3 burners, 7 cd-roms and 9 spare drives in storage...). The problematic one was a 24x SCSI Panasonic.So you have the US-version?

yes mr. Cell I have the US version. I also have a Samsung 308b CD-RW/DVD-ROM drive and both CD's work. I even tested them out by burning both onto CD-RW's and seen if they worked and they did so they both went onto CD-R after that test

I have never been able to copy from Disk to DiskHOWEVER,I copy the entire contents from Disk one to a temporary location and make my back-up from that.Then I do the same with Disk 2Works perfectly............I use my back up for all my re-installsLaterTim Kent
