I made an activity for Whitefish 2 and it starts in Kootenai river siding. It has all of the cars from both boxcar packs availible today (50 & 60ft boxcars) and when I start the activity I get the following messages:
1.No extended shape data for UP_50ft_492332.s
2.Failed to open shape file routes\Whitefish2\Shapes\UP_50ft_492334.s
3.Shape failed to load UP_50ft_492334.s
4.Cant add car UP_50ft_492334.s to worldBut I run the same train, starting at the same koontenai river siding, in explore mode and I do not get those messages? is it a problem with the activity? Could it be that I didnt add a car to the work order, or other things? I have other trains in the activity but mines is the only train that has those boxcars. Any help.

RE: Strange Problem With Shape File

go into your trainset folder to the one that has the UP car and check the s file name as listed in the sd and wag files against the name of the one in the folder. It probably was named wrong.I have found, like you did that if MSTS cannot find the file in the correct folder it will start to troll around in the global files and the route files looking for it.Kevin Arceneaux

Hi Cotton Belt Niner-Six,Same error here, so it's nothing wrong you did. As Kevin suggests there is a problem with the .sd file, but it is (for once) not a wrong name, but an extra bracket that messes up the file. Can happen...You do have to open UP_50ft_492334.sd in Wordpad and edit it manually. The faulty line reads:ESD_Bounding_Box ( ( -1.560000 0.076173 -8.080000 1.560000 4.685511 8.080000 )Take out one of the two opening brackets and your problem goes away:ESD_Bounding_Box ( -1.560000 0.076173 -8.080000 1.560000 4.685511 8.080000 )will have the car work properly. Interestingly enough, no one came up with the problem for over 24 hours - makes me wonder: Do all those downloads lie dormant on peoples HDs, even if it is such fine cars as Pete's "Pedro Builts"? RE: Strange Problem With Shape File

Thanks to Swissie and Lone Wolf Activities (Kevin), I believe the UP Freight pack is fixed. I have uploaded and update. I guess I got a little to cocky and did not do enough testing. I feel shame and will immediatly cease releasing reskins. After a few seconds of reflection I have reversed that decision. At any rate there will be upcoming releases of CNW, MP and KCS freight cars. Special requests from some people who have had a great deal of patience and time for me.I have no deadlines or release dates for these projects. I have learned a lot in the last week and hope to never repeat the same mistakes. I tend to work in creative bursts.Pete

Download Conbuilder and check your stock! This prevents such errors because Conbuilder finds every small mistake and gives you a precise description about what's wrong where.

RE: Strange Problem With Shape File

All my uploads have been checked by CB, numerous times. The trouble is CB does not catch all, especially lower case and upper case differences, and the occasional extra bracket.Pete
