http://www.train-sim.com/dcforum/User_files/3f3040a272c96570.zipThose who wish to use the Raildriver console with the new CTA cars cer2600.zip and cta2400.zip, download the above zip, extract, copy, or move to \Train Simulator\Trains\Trainsets, then go to the \2603 and \CTA2400 folders, run RailDriver.bat in each folder. To undo the changes if you don't like them, run Restore.bat in each folder.Start RailDriver, select the Dash 9 for the rdf file, and drive the EL trains. The combined handle works backwards, the same way that the Dash 9 does, instead of the correct direction. The engine brake hunts at max braking between 95 and 100%, and doesn't release as fast as the real thing, but it's the only way to get it to work at all. Better than driving with the keyboard, IMAO.All this assumes you actually have a RailDriver console from www.raildriver.com, if you don't have one you have no use for this hack.Known issues:1. The combined power handle works backwards.
2. The engine brake is slower than the original and hunts at the top end.
3. Purists will shudder, the only way to get this to work was to fool the F5 HUD into thinking the EL was a diesel. It still runs the same, feels the same, sounds the same, and I tweaked it so that it don't smell like a diesel, but since the sim thinks it's a diesel you can run it on any route, electrified or not.CTA Elevated trains - RailDriver hack – image 1
Those of you who don't mind that sort of thing and actually prefer to be able to drive electric trains on any route, be careful with your newfound freedom cuz you never know where you might end up. CTA Elevated trains - RailDriver hack – image 2
