Na for paywere I would expect better paint then that there detail seems a little bland if you ask me I am on my 3rd diesel engine and I am already turning out better Freewere stuff then that. there paint work seems to suffer and dosnt help there models all that much.
maby I may seem a Little harsh but since TA's reliece of that SD40-2 that they did seems to have made alot look bland to me and it was a freewere on top of that.
its like Maple leafs Engines that came with the Kicking horse route there route was great but the engines left one wanting and I dont use there engines much on even that route if you havent noticed in my mind and by my Screen shots in my sim the Union Pacific has taken over operations there.
But it may be I am just really partial to Train Artisan due to I bought there American Classics and am one of the reasons why they didnt hang up on making freewere addons cause last year people were all over and insulting Train Artisan and Cyrus Lum almost Called it quits and I defended them. I was given access to several of there locomotives that were only available to those who donated and later bought American Classics and that was before I bought anything from them.... and due to my limited funds I didnt donate to the NYC like they were asking Wich I wish I could and now I have my priority to seeing the AT&SF 2912 Run again so I will be Donating to it since it is located here in Colorado. I probbably will never make it to New York in my life time as I have lived 25 years and finaly Just got as Far as Las Vegas just this year.
BTW your probbably wondering how I could have been here at train sim last year since I only Registered Boilerbuster last few months.

The Deko locomotives have always been top notch and Chip actually works his tail off to make them available for everyone. I purchased the UP set, and was actually quite happy with it, especially the improved sounds. I've always thought that Dekosoft has put out quality stuff (run their tunnel motors all the time!). Like the others have said, everybody's entitled to their opinion.

Your stuff has left me wanting - to use something else. I am singluarlly unimpressed with your stuff. When you get to the quality of Chip, Marc, MLT, or TA, then maybe, but I seriously doubt it. Most of the skinners here can do a nice shiney engine.As did your support for TA. Don,I must agree with most statements about your post. Chip and Marc have set the standard for MSTS addons.I've yet to see anyone compare with MSTS addons, nor have I seen such patience from the Dekosoft/3DTrains team.Even though UP is my least favorite, I've added Chips new UP Superset to my colection, and must say, the whole package is fantastic!I am all for one's opinion. I certainly have mine, The quality of work from Dekosoft on this UP Superset and all the other products, far outweigh anything I've seen in the 2 years I've been here....did you just find that your cat missed the litter box this morn before you wrote this?

Also please note that while you seem to be making an issue that Dekosoft is payware, your promoting TA which is also payware -- seems a bit inconsistent.In my opinion Dekosoft and 3DTrains are the two premium brands right now that are raising the bar the highest and turning out the highest quality models far surpassing any other source, including TA. I like the other groups -- this is not a knock against them.

You Guys havent seen my third Diesel yet I am still working on it.
as far as me compairing Paywere designers I think it is fair that one would compair them hell if they are to be payed for the are subject to being judged. I wont pay for something that looks worse then alot of Freewere stuff out there. and I have to admit there are alot of freewere repainters out there who do a better job then Dekosoft. I have alot of differant engines in my roster and if you want arguments about it I can start posting Screen shots to proove my point.
If I am going to buy it it must be of the highest quality or my money isnt going to them. my opinions are stated and I stand by what I have to say.
I am not downing 3DTrains so where did that come from I am saying that everything I have seen from Dekosoft has yet to impress me.
if it insults you or them then they take it way to personal.
if you see my posts when someone insults me wich is impossable I just improve what it is I do if you havent followed the development of my Kyle Repaint you didnt see it. But if you did follow it you would see that I even asked for negitive comments against them and I did get one. I improved what I could as some parts wernt in the texture map that I could find and left it as it was and improved all other pieces that were asked of me.
So yes I will be critical of those who make Paywere addons, if they are smart they would listen to there critics, or other paywere creators will leave them behind.
I always Listen to my Critics as I am one of my biggest critics I have and I am very critical of my own work, it makes me look to where I can improve what it is I do.
So as a saying I live buy dont Judge unless your prepaird to be judged. I am prepaired to listen..... Are you?Don Pottorff

I was commenting on the skinns just because there his modle would think that for the money they would do better on the skinns.
TA turns out some realy good Skinns for the money as well as 3D Trains. So what is your point maby they need a Skinner I still wont buy them unless they do better on there skins it isnt worth my money is what I am saying. If you want me to buy something make sure its better then what I can get for Free

thanks this is the kind of dialog I was looking for in the first place. I am not trying to change anyones opinion and nor do I expect everyone to agree. I was in just one post wich is way at the top trying to convay what it was I thought of it. but some people do take it way to persoanal however I am not one of those as I stated I take any and all Remarks about my own work wich I ask for in my posts and I fix what others think is wrong with my work.
if they dont then how do we expect to make things better and better instead of getting the same old stuff over and over. if everyone was happy with what is for the sim there would be no addons as we all would have just excepted what Kuju and Microsoft had sent in there orignal Package.

Can someone help with this question . . . You can buy the set for $13.99 but if you go to http://www.dekosoft.com/design/msts/upmenu.shtml you can click on the locos you want and download them there. My question is do you have to pay on the site listed above or only if you get the whole thing? Thanks in adavace.

Yes You can download it but you have to send them a check, Moneyorder or the best way is buy it with a Credit card, After they verrify that you paied for it they will send you an email with the passwords to unlock them so you can install. That is how it works.Don Pottorff

As you have seen from my work, I am a little anal about realism. I use only Chip's GM's on my route. They are actually the first items I learned to skin. I like Chip's model better. The TA's are great but they don't physically match well with Chip's so I had to make a choice.Pete

Now to the UP super set.I have it and Dekosoft have done a super job this time.With new added sounds and the only thing wanting is a more defined cabview or should I say control stand. Now how about some Sante Fe to just piss off the easterners.Just Rollin Down The Tracks Dale
