Does anyone have a copy of the download files Dekosoft IGC GP35 that was in their Roundhouse section when they first started? If so, could it be emailed along with which password is needed (I have them all, so all I need to know is which one is required). TIA.

RE: Dekosoft GP35 Illinois Gulf Central file

Not trying to be clever Sixman, but your last sentence doesn't make sense as you're still asking for the password! Like the man said, best ask Chip himself - it'll save a lot of grief as there has been trouble recently with passwords being made public.Cheers

RE: Dekosoft GP35 Illinois Gulf Central file

Not sure of your statement about being clever. I have pruchased all of Dekosoft's packages. The Roundhouse downloads tell you which password is needed (i.e. Requires SD40-2 Pro Part 2 password). That was what I was asking for, not the 16 character password itself. Also, Chip has the Roundhouse downloads filed away since there is not enough space on the site hosting his work to have all on-line at the same time. I was just trying to avoid bothering him since he has alot of new models coming out soon.

sixman:We're left to draw two conclusions concerning your post:1. You're a Dekosoft customer that has somehow goofed up your copy of the engine in question, need to reinstall it, and have misplaced the password for it. 2. You're trying to pirate the software. If the former is accurate, a quick email to Chip should fix you up.If the latter, be reminded that what you're trying to do is not only illegal, but very unethical and doesn't say very good things about you. Can't imagine why anyone would balk at the reasonable prices of our payware vendors. Case in point: For a paltry $6.99, I purchased a Dekosoft GP35 pack that includes something like 8-9 loco's, custom cabs, sounds, etc. That same amount of money won't buy you a sniff of the new paint from a top-of-the-line HO scale diesel. What's the problem???I'll give you benefit of the doubt, sixman, and hope you get your legally obtained Dekosoft units reinstalled. However, to aid the process, I will forward the url of this thread to Chip of Dekosoft so he can address it personally.EDIT: Just read your above post that appeared while typing my reply. Suggest you hit the Dekosoft forum at 3DTrains website and post to Chip there. Hopefully you'll get it resolved ASAP and the Dekosoft engines you purchased will be up and going in no time. Glad you're not what it sounded like.Andre Ming

RE: Dekosoft GP35 Illinois Gulf Central file

AndreThe model I am looking for was posted at the Dekosoft Roundhouse; it was not a payware model; it was a 'bonus model'. It can't be purchased for any amount of money, so I am not trying to 'pirate' anything from Chip. It was posted and removed before I made my first purchase from Dekosoft. As was stated in my secong posting, I am NOT asking for the 16 character password, only the reference to which one of the 40 odd passwords I have received from Dekosoft would be needed. It seems that many people at this forum only partially read messages that are posted and then enjoy jumping on the person posting the message.Chip said if I sent a CD to him, he could load it for me, but I was just trying to save him so extra work. Guess it isn't worth trying to be considerate to people who do alot for the MSTS community.

RE: Dekosoft GP35 Illinois Gulf Central file

My deepest apologies if I offended you.If you'll carefully reread your original post, you'll see how your orginal post could definitely be misunderstood. With your additional input that you posted during the time I was typing my reply above, your position was much clearer. At the time I was typing my original reply, not knowing which was the case, I tried to offer help along WITH the caveat of addressing the possibility of illegally obtaining copywrited software. This too, can be understood by carefully reading my edited post above. Even before knowing which was your case, I extended to you the benefit of doubt, but carried with the post a reminder to any/all that read it concerning the lack of ethics of software pirates.I can certainly appreciate your efforts to ease the workload on those that are very involved trying to produce MSTS add-ons as their livelyhood. This printed medium isn't entirely adequate to convey intention... one must type a lot of information for the unknowing to be able to ascertain precisely what is being sought.Hopefully, your situation will be quickly resolved in a manner most pleasing to you.Andre Ming

AndreWhen you can't see the other person, it is easy to misunderstand (especially when someone types faster than one thinks). I also need to be careful to fully read what is posted as a reply and think of how an orignal post could be misunderstood.

For the record sixman, I think your original post was both clear and unambiguous and I can't see how it could possibly be interpreted as an attempt at piracy.Your good name is safe with me, for whatever that's worth. Rob.

Have a look in the file library. If I'm correct there's some IGC's in it. Edit: Some updates on the model that is

Best regards,
Richard.

RE: Dekosoft GP35 Illinois Gulf Central file

obo:FWIW: The way Dekosoft presents their downloads at their site, it's very easy to see how a person could download whatever is desired, then solicit the passwords needed to open the files, either privately or more openly. Also, given the fact there has been a piracy problem of late among some payware vendors, it has caused many customers aware of the situation to be on guard and on the lookout.Hopefully, any misunderstanding that existed concerning this thread has now been cleared up.Andre Ming

RE: Dekosoft GP35 Illinois Gulf Central file

I understand the situation and I agree with the sentiment behind people's reactions, I just wanted to make the point that in this case the original post was clearly not asking for a password and therefore the poster had nothing to apologize for.I agree that this thread has probably run its course, so I'll do my best to make this my last post here. Feel free to have the last word, so long as it isn't too inflammatory!Rob.

RE: Dekosoft GP35 Illinois Gulf Central file

Hi sixmansorry for jumping in a bit quick (although I wasn't accusing you of anything), and you're right, if you are familiar with the way DekoSoft password protect their locos, then your sentence does make sense. It's just that recently there have been instances where at least 2 commercial enterprises have had their passwords "leaked". Being on the beta team of one of them, we've been asked to be vigilant about any signs of this cropping up again. You are obviously a keen customer of DekoSoft, and I apologise for questioning your original message. I also hope you get your problem solved.Cheers
