I recently downloaded and installed this utility but for the life of me, I can't get it to function. Seems there is a problem with the JAVA portion of the program. Has anyone been successful in getting this program to run? The installation instructions tell you to be sure that your anti-virus program is disabled (I did that).
Yeah, I had Sky Conductor running and then for no reason it quit. Nothing would happen when I clicked on the icon or tried to run the batch file from the folder.Over the last week I've uninstalled and tried to reinstall it a half dozen times. I downloaded and installed the new version of Java. Nothing worked so I gave up on it.It seemed to stop working about the same time I installed Train Store. But I have no idea if that was the cause or not. Could have been a coincidence.Noel
Hi Noel,Just to clarifyTrain Store does not use Java.I can't see how Train Store can affect the loading process of Sky Conductor, unless Sky Conductor is somehow objecting to the absence of Routes that were previously present. If this is so, then I think this would be a Sky Conductor problem, as Routes can be removed legitimately by users without reference to Train Store or any other utility software.Tony
Well, when I posted my problem on the Sky!Conductor website I was told to try the latest version of Java and given a link to it's download site. Appartently the author thinks other versions of Java will work.Noel
Your best place to post this is in the Sky 2 forum at http://www.howintheworld.com/cgi-bin/YaBB/YaBB.cgi where there is also a FAQ section. Post the problem there and Jak is more likely to see it.Not sure about the Java problem - I run the latest release from Sun and have no problem with SC2.Bill
I also have no problems with sky conductor2 and trainstore. You have to realise that PCs have an almost unlimited number of different configurations, any one of which can cause problems with any piece of software. Nobody can guarantee that their software will work with every system. Just as an example sky conductor no longer picks up my routes automatically, which it did before, so I have to give it a route name before it works. Its no big deal.David
